I keep hearing about wasting money on invetigations. I don't recall any convictions when the Republicans investigated the Clintons, throughout their administration.

Jeff M. If those alleged crimes actually were committed, why were there no convictions? God knows they spent enough to investigate them.

Oh it was a witch hunt by a nasty vindictive Republican controlled Congress. They tied Clintons hands for years and to this day will not acknowledge the effect it has had in present day. They were more concerned with a witch hunt than believing Clinton regarding terrorism and Al-Qaeda. I believe they claimed he was just trying to deflect from the shameful investigation they had going on. They were a despicable people.

The real crime is that anyone ever thought Paula Jones really read some right wing rag about a woman named Paula and assumed 'everyone in Arkansas would know it was her'.
That's the original crime, which led to the perjury charge for lying in a deposition about having consensual sex with Monica Lewinsky.
Paula stood as much chance of reading that article in that rag as this current President does of remembering 'My Pet Goat'.
Jeff, its impossible to convict someone when no charges were ever filed. Neither Wiley or Broddrick ever filed charge at all against him, in Broddricks case, he wasn't yet president either. Its impossible for Clinton to defend himself when he can never have his day in court. Like so many other so-called crimes, there are no charges, so nothing can be disproved. But there is this, when he ran for President the FBI, in the then-Bush One administration found no cause for futher inquiry on these points.

The IC's office headed by Ken Starr actualy got 14 convictions, including the Govenor of Arkansas, and the #2 man in the justice department Web Hubbel. The IC's office was assigned 5 different investigations by Attorney General Janet Reno. These 5 were the WHitewater investigation, Travelgate,Filegate,The Vince Foster suicide, and Bill Clinton's perjury in the Paula Jones case.

The original crime investigated was the White Water deal. One of the big driving points the dems had after that was they wanted to have limits on special prosecutors so something like that couldn't happen again, but then Bush got elected and I guess they thought it was a good idea to let prosecutors go wild as long as there was a rep in the White House.

That was a huge waste of time and I have yet to figure out how land deals ended in a charge of lying about a BJ.

Too various issues sweetie.. apples and oranges... no person cared Clinton fired ninety 3 US legal professionals and little or no replaced into suggested related to the certainty 2 of them have been investigating Clinton's White Water!!! In invoice Clinton’s case he didn’t have human beings in place waiting to take over. i think of the Bush administration is already filling those positions. invoice Clinton somewhat had an lawyer well-known. Even in Clinton's protection, this would be a classic practice of all Presidents..

Except for the one they impeached him for which had nothing to do with government or the presidency. He is still left with people asking if the Clinton's are going to prison for Whitewater or for murdering people. Rape accusations. Talk about conspiracy theories and witch hunts. What a vicious campaign against a pretty good president. Unbelievable.

Not true.

It was a $60 million Starr investigation. Other than that I agree 1000% with this post.

I don't recall there ever being a crime. I think Ken Starr came away empty handed.

It was nothing but an expensive neocon smear campaign and in spite of themselves, he left office as one of the most popular presidents in history. The laugh is on them although we paid for that atrocity.

you remember Whitewater..where about 6-7 Clintonistas went to jail..including the then sitting Gov of Arkansas..
where Hillary lost all billing records and allowed her law associate to fall on the sword and go to prison???

Clinton has his force of liars with no regard for the truth out in force..with references to BJ's and dress stains..from people with little or no regard for the truth to the point the lies have become a mantra...where the fact Clinton had arranged two civil service jobs in exchange for sex..and you same people trashed Paul Wolfowitz for getting his WIFE a job

Clinton used his job to demand sex from Paula Jones who he settled a civil suit with..because any ponderence of innocence on his part was wasted by lying to Starr's deposition officer..there were countless other examples of
pathological behavior that caught up with him and has labeled him the second President to face impeachment..and get disbarred..over his lack of integrity
