I would probably not agree with much of what Stephanie believes politically but I agree with what she said. No, we should not shut down anything having to do with free speech. What needs to happen is that the people of this country need to stop relying on limited one-sided news sources and start learning and thinking for themselves. Now that would be a real step in the right direction.

Better idea.......... buy it, and then fire all the irresponsible left wingers, while retaining the few (probably closeted) conservatives. Then, for the inaugural month of the paper's rebirth, run front page articles written by the people who have been selected to continue with the NYT. These articles will expose how the politics of the paper forced them to dwell only on the radical left agenda.

We will learn that the paper had an extremely one-sided policy of promoting the Liberal agenda at any cost, routinely ignored very newsworthy stories because they did not promote their hidden agenda, purposely and irresponsibly published stories to undermine our national security in the hopes that our government would have to stop intervening in foreign affairs due to lack of necessary secrecy.

Conservatives can expose the times they tried to get critically important stories printed, only to learn that disseminating the truth and real news was less important that feeding the public a steady does of one-sided Liberal views.

Buying the NYT? About $850 million on some Billionaire's MasterCard.

Changing the motto of the New York Times to: "Fair and Balanced News Coverage"? Priceless!

this is a free country, when you don't buy the paper you close it down,,,,,,,,,,,
I might think they are idiots but they will shoot their own self in the foot........ There is two sides to every story.

America is a wonderful country and Lady Liberty must remain free.
I refuse to buy the New york times, I think most of what is written is garbage too.
Just like drugs. it their is no market their is no profit.
A Conservative billionaire should be helping to change and fix the system.
Start a paper that writes the truth and the good things about this country and its good attributes.
With all of our problems still the greatest nation on Earth
In the words of Pat trick Henry give me liberty or give me death.

No, you should make your own 'conservative' paper in contrast to the New York Times. In fact, I read the NYT everyday, but have asked about getting a more 'conservative' view on current events.

Please, show me a mainstream 'conservative' online news source so I can expand my horizons.

And if a billionaire conservative ever did that... it would just make the NYT more popular after the Supreme Court starts it up again.

Its not so much that it is a Liberal or Conservative thing

Its more about how our Government fails us kind of thing, without it we just wouldn't know the truth about a great many things.

Is that how you want it in America - we all have to live in the dark on all political issues.

That's just not right!

People should be able to read opinions no matter how solid or idiotic they seem.

So, I would not shut down the NYTimes

Steph, I love your double standards of the Left wing nuts, saying you want to shut down the VERY LIBERAL LEFT WING NUT NY TIMES because there PRO-LIBERAL AND LEFT WING NUT, But liberals and left wing nuts both scream at Fox news news for reporting the other side or a differant point of view, you Liberals are the biggest bunch of hypocrites from Al Gore and Robert Kennedy Jr. who fly around in private jets to liberals screaming at the right for blasting the times when you guys blast fox news,
