I don't think that he is going to leave. I think that the US is looking at our new dictator. I would lay money on it that "something" will happen and he will not leave. He has 18 months to plan this out....or do you think he already has?

I would. There is considerable crossover between the Jewish and Buddhist communities, resulting in one of the kindest and smartest forms of spirituality around. Perhaps it is the religion of the future.

Bush just declared an effective coup, by stating that not only does he believe that he is above the law, but that he can block any attempt to prosecute any member of the executive branch for any alleged violation of law.

In other words, he has asserted that he is able to break the law with complete impunity, and there is nothing the courts or congress can do about it.

If he has sworn an oath to see that the laws are faithfully executed, shouldn't that mean that US Attorneys would be required to prosecute a Contempt of Congress charge? Otherwise, there is no legal accountability.

How is this not effectively a bloodless coup?

Is this just the deeply rooted mysoginy inherent to ultra-conservatism? That the ideal woman is the subjugated sex slave? Or is it just to draw attention? If so, that seems a cheap act, a trick not worthy of true rational, political discourse. Opinions?

SADAM HUSSEIN; now that he is long DEAD and gone, then shouldn't we get out of Iraq now? As it is, we are just illegal occupiers of IRAQ. We try to rationalize it by saying that we are there because of an elected government. But that elected power there is nothing but our PUPPET.

2nd q. Let democracy work. Since the republicans are gridlocking the Congress by prolonging this very expensive war, costing us here domestically- the money could have been better spent on medical care, education, and shoring up the retirement system. Should we not now show the world that our democracy works by throwing the republican party bums - out of office, the party of Bush that lied to us, circumvented the justice system, unsupportive of global warming inititiative and the party spending the money of the next generations to come. Wake up people in their 20's and 30's. Vote democratic this time and do not let the 50-60 year old republicans bankrupt our country. Don't you think so?

Celebrities admit to past drug use all the time on TV, some even admit they sold drugs at one time in their life. Nothing ever seems to happen to them legally. But if you were to admit to something like murder or arson in a similar forum you'd probably be arrested and prosecuted. At the very least the police would launch an investigation.

I'm not really bothered by that disparity. But it does seem odd that in a country supposedly in the middle of a war on drugs, people can be so free to admit they flaunt the law. Logic would seem to dictate that either it's a serious criminal offense or it isn't. As it is, it seems like it's serious if you get caught doing it today, but if you do it today and admit to it next week, no one cares.

Why is that?

They are always dreaming up new taxes - now I see the real reason behind their "global warming" agenda - it is to raise taxes. They are now trying to push a "carbon footprint tax.

All you would see on the myspace pages would be pro-war and pro-Bush statements, right?

Could it possibly be true that the troops are just as frustrated with this endles, unwinnable war as the majority of the American public, and the whole "support Bush and that means you support our troops" is just an attempt to further use our own troops as an easy way to push the Bush agenda?

You can't tell me that secret information is being passed from Joe Schmo private E-2 to terrorists through myspace either, so don't even bother to insult your own intellect by saying anything along those lines.

Lets not confuse revenge with legitimate legal punishment for crimes committed, I'm referring to the urge inside us all to "get even" when we feel that we've been wronged....

Please explain why for us all;

When theres absolutely no progress in IRAQ's governement
While Al Queda is only getting stronger elsewhere(pakistan)
While a new Al Queda group is developing in IRAQ because of our occupation there
When we never truly went after Bin Laden, instead went after Saddam
When there was not a connection between Saddam and al queda until after we arrived and Saddam was already captured, and only grew because of the kaos left with an unprepared plan that everyone conceeds to.

Why, why do you still believe in this war????

can you believe the audacity of this administration.
While they filibuster every attempt democrats make to voice the american opinion, and bush and repubs have absolutely no progress in IRAQ's government to show for it,

Now Bush has cleverly inserted a payraise with more funding for this failed war, and expects to push democrats' hand by signing over yet another blank check.

Is the trick of the day to keep putting pressure and sneaking and hope the american public allows him to continue his idiocy!!!

When less than 30% of americans agree with this, what are we to do?

They have had control of education for well over 16 years now and have had no real improvements. This Bush even let Teddy write the last bill that increased spending on education by billions. So why are our schools doing such a poor job? Specially inner city schools. What should be done to fix this problem? Would vouchers work? Would private profit driven mangement help? If someones pay depended on test scores would this cause teachers to care more about the performance of studests? Would punishing parents for kids actions at school cause some parents to take a more active approach to parenting? Just some thoughts. With education the key to Democracy you would think this would be a problem that needs to be addressed. Without education people just vote for who will give them the most out of others pockets.
