im 16 and i recently elbowed (not exaclty a punch) a 17yr old in the face...reasons being 1. Sexual Harrassment towards girls much younger than him (next year he will be a sexual offender...he tells freshman hes a freshman..hes a senior), 2. Owed me a large sum of money and refused to pay it back. 3. is constantly high on drugs and unreliable. (and generally possesses marijuana at all times), 4. he tried to get my attention though nonviolent physical means even though i repeatedly told him to get his hands off of me. could he press charges? does what i have on him outweigh what he has on me? P.S this is in New York City

I do not like his politics, but other than that he's ok. I wish he was not the President, but my vote didn't count this time so oh well.
Thanks, for the SERIOUS answers!

He has 2 felonies. One was from when he was 17 and stupid. He was with the wrong crowd and they broke in to a museum to steal a collector gun. He was driving the car and didn't know what they were doing, but of course once he found out, he sped off with them in the car instead of just getting out. But, again, he was only 17 and he's 43 now.

The other felony is assault and battery. His ex-wife had temporary custody of their son (he has had the son for over 6 years now) and one of her disturbed boyfriend's was coming to her apartment to harrass her repeatedly. So my fiance' confronted the guy and told him to stay away from them. That led to an argument and then, of course, a fist fight.

For years, he has been turned down left and right for good jobs because of this crap. He's a good man, he does nothing wrong, has no other crimes, not even car accidents! But as soon as the felonies come up (he's always honest on his applications), the interview goes sour. I feel bad for him..

I have a real problem and im pretty sure alot of other people might have it to. I agree with having rights here that is why we live in this country. But how can people come to this country and not even try to learn english. Im not just tlaking about latinos im talking about all immigrants. Whether it be polish or mexican or russian. I walked into a store in Chicago recently and couldnt find an address. I asked for help and nobody spoke english everybody just spole polish and it drove me crazy. They all looked at me like I was crazy and didnt belong there.
You can live a decent life functioning here in the States unless you learn the language.
My mother come from Mexico legally and struggled to learn english because she knew she had to in order to be successful.
Like Governer Schwarenegger said, and i totally agree. If you want to learn english you have to turn off the spanish language channels.
Input please?

Haven't we had enough of the Bushes and the Clintons?
I am a life long Democrat and I do not want Hillary Clinton to win in '08!
I think we need some new innovative ideas and people with less of a corporate agenda!
Time to move on.

I'm writing a story, and in it the kid gets in a car accident. To work with the plot, I was planning on making him be a little drunk when it occurs. The kid is like 16/17, so he's obviously underage. In real life, if you got into a car accident (he's the only one involved, flipped his car or something) while drunk and under 21 would you be charged with anything? The kids gonna end up in ICU or something in the story.

I need to know, in California, whats the deal with merchants asking for I.D.? I recently got married and changed my last name but my new credit cards have not yet come in. A cashier at a large retailer denied my purchase because my last name on my credit card did not match my drivers license even though I showed her my work PHOTO I.D. which also has my old last name (i also showed her ALL of my other cards that have my old last name). Later on, I paid by debit card (which she accepted because of the entire pin number ordeal), and the debit card had my old last name as did the credit card.

So is it legal?

He has professed some interest in politics. No experience. But if he was on the ticket, would you vote for him?

I would. The democrat is my usual first choice, but I think Lance would do a decent job. Especially on health care. He was on the receiving end of not having coverage when his cancer was diagnosed. Bet he would fix that in a heart beat.

Baba Mezia, 114b "The Jews are called human beings, but the non-Jews are not humans. They are beasts."
Jalkut Rubeni gadol 12b: "The souls of non-Jews come from impure spirits and are called pigs."
Zohar (I, 160a):"Rabbi Jehuda said to him [Rabbi Cezkia]: 'He is to be praised who is able to free himself from the enemies of Israel , and the just are much to be praised who get free from them and fight against them. 'Rabbi Chezkia asked, 'How must we fight against them?' Rabbi Jehuda said, 'By wise counsel thou shalt war against them' (Proverbs, ch. 24, 6). By what kind of war? The kind of war that every son of man must fight against his enemies, which Jacob used against Esau - by deceit and trickery whenever possible. They must be fought against without ceasing, until proper order be restored. Thus it is with satisfaction that I say we should free ourselves from them and rule over them."
Hadarine, 20, B; Schulchan 9ruch, Choszen Hamiszpat 348. "A Jew may do to a non-Jewess what he can do. He may treat her as he treats a piece of meat."

I was thinking : Carlos Mencia . Maybe Lewis Black as campaign manager. He's too dark & depressed to actually run the operation, but he could check everything for stupidity . Think I'd have a chance ?;D

So I was offered a great job. I have been going through the background check process. They asked for 10 years of employment history after the offer was extended to me. I provided a list of all of my former jobs since 1997. They were concerned that there were so many jobs, so they wanted to have some professional references. The specificially asked for 2 from the current state that I live and 2 from the previous state that I lived in. I provided 6 references all together, just in case they could not reach someone. I was mainly concerned with one reference that I put down from 6 years ago. (since they asked for 2 from my former state, I had to provide this person) They called her and she said she could not remember me but she thought it was a good reference. She asked the HR people to send her an email and she would get back to them. Well, she hasnt. The HR department called me and asked that I call her to refresh her memory. I have left her 2 messages and sent 2 emails.

Both break with their party and speak their minds. They are beholden to know one it seems.

Question? Can I support them if I don't work for their campaigns? I don't want to get in trouble with the "Chickenhawk Guy".

Tracking down individuals across the board in co-operations with all the affected countries seems like a better plan then sending in the infantry and 70 ton tanks into Iraq. Even Afghanstan isn't going anywhere and now Pakistan looks like its going to begin to fall apart. Realistically how long can we continue believing that there's a totally military solution for terrorism?
