I think they should force feed pork to any detainee which tries to go on a hunger strike or fails to tell all they know. What do you think?

he drop in stocks capped a losing week for the Dow after three weeks of gains, and came a day after the blue chips finished above 14,000 for the first time.

I worked as a courtesy clerk at Ralphs and my school only permitted me to work 16 hrs a week since I have to do a lot of school work every day of the week (I have to finish a year's worth amount of work in just three weeks, so I'm always busy with school work). Anywho, I come to work today and they tell me that they are letting me go because I was "slow" at what I was doing. Which is complete BS because my cart bins were always empty in the parking lots, and I was medium-fast when bagging (I always get tips from customers when I'm bagging). Anywho, one day when I was doing carts, all the carts were empty and I was standing in the shade because it was 90 degrees outside, 10 minutes later the manager gives me a lecture about "sitting at Starbucks" and I was like, "WTF, I wasn't at Starbucks". And that was another one of their BS reasons. I'm not sad, I'm just pissed off that they can't tell me the truth as to why I was let go...

There are many groups all around us that are opposed to eachother, i.e Conservatives vs. Libertarians, even gangs like Bloods vs. Crips...

So, my question(s) is:

As a city council member, what could you do to encourage these groups to:

a. Respect each other’s differences?

b. Reduce conflict between them in your community?

c. Learn about the similarities between them?

I bought a car, spent money to get it running, then had the "real owner" come with the police and take it back. Apparently the person who sold it to me, bought it from somebody who took it as payment for money owed. How long do I have to sue to recover my money? I heard 3 years, and it has already been 2. Do I have a case?

In Louisiana, Edwin Edwards was elected governor four times. The last time was after an indictment for racketeering. Bill Jefferson took bribes and so did his brother. Ray Nagin proved to be a lousy mayor to have in a crisis after Katrina. Kathleen Blanco was elected governor just because she's female. The Democrats would have you believe that these people don't represent the entire party. Most corrupt politicians are Democrats. I wonder who this message will offend.

The two girls arrested for attempting to smuggle cocaine into the UK from Accra (Capital of Ghana) are awaiting trial. One girl is from turkey and the other is from nigeria.

The girls are on remand in a Ghana jail. They are provided food and drink from the british embassay and are visited three times a day by the british consulate to ensure they are ok.

The family complain that the girls have had their possessions taken away from them and that they were concerned about their children.

The african newspapers report that the girls had stated that they were offered £3,000 each to smuggle cocaine into the country. The british newspapers report that the girls did not know what was in the laptop cases and are not guilty.

How can the parents of these children even comment after they allowed their children to go - in their mind - to a school trip to france - why did they not check out the details with the school???? - time/ date of departure/ hotel details.. etc

I believe that to condone the use of torture is to render oneself liable to torture.
Those at present subject to torture are predominately 'suspects'. As the person subjected to torture is, in the end, prepared to say whatever he thinks the interrogator wants to hear, he may well implicate you. You as a suspect are then liable to torture.

I could expand on this but I think it conveys my general reasoning.

Can any of you convince me that torture should be used as an implement of state policy.

My ex is very difficult and i usually have to deal directly with his attorney to get anything handled. I have not received anything from her stating she is no longer representing him even though we havent had anything go on for some time. Doesnt she still legally represent him until she signs off through the courts stating she is no longer representing him? I am getting the runaround as to if he is still being represented.
