It should be.I can't believe how many obese kids i see with a big gulp in their hands.
Obesity leads to medical problems.Medical problems lead to taxpayers footing the bill.

No. Cause then we would have to criminalize giving children chocolate, or any candy, or ice cream, or anything else that contained sugar or caffeine. And ummm... that would be retarded. I guess I'm confused about why you think this way. Yes really small children/babies should probably not be exposed to the high levels of caffeine that can be found in many sodas, but realistically caffeine is not considered a dangerous substance with long term health effects. So basically the idea that giving children soda should be a criminal act is rather baseless in my opinion.

The underlying question is are the children receiving a nutritionally balanced diet and are they on a regular exercise program which greatly affects the overall health of the children. I've seen parents feed their kids potato chips and soda for lunch and that is definitely criminal. However if the parents are taking good care of their children's nutritional needs then soda is not a major concern except in the case of their teeth.

i dont comprehend why a new child or new child might have a bottle, yet i'm getting what your attempting to assert. i in my view think of that it relies upon on the circumstances. if it have been a time-honored factor with a new child decrease than the age of 10, then sure i might call it very irresponsible parenting, yet while its like a two times a year factor, then its particularly no longer a great deal. i might get a ton of thumbs downs for this, yet i dont see something incorrect with letting a new child over the age of one have some sips of soda and any new child over the age of three a sprint glass of it on a birthday or christmas, sure it ought to no longer be "wholesome", yet while it comprises teenagers, you cant continually be a hundred% wholesome or a hundred% educational, often times you are able to desire to enable them to consume or do issues because of the fact they are exciting or flavor good. its a strategies from criminal, its letting the infants decrease loose a sprint on a particular social amassing. having 2 glasses a year isnt going to grant them diabetes or lead them to obese or something like that.

I don't give soda to my children. I guess that means I'm creepy. I don't think the government should be telling me what to feed my kids though. That should be my right as a parent as long as it doesn't fall into the abusive category.

I don't believe soda is good for children, but neither is candy at Halloween, too many presents at Christmas, bad teachers in school, or a government that wants to punish or rebuke parents that spank their kids.
We have too many laws already! (can you say Gestapo?)
People need to be responsible for themselves and quit trying to use government to promote "behavior control" for every little thing.

It's only criminal if there is a law that imposes criminal penalties for the action.
I don't think the govt should be telling people what to feed their children.

Kids are being shot in school, doing drugs, having sex, watching violent movies, talking back and disrespecting their parents, building bombs, killing other children.....
Somehow I just don't see soda as being all that bad.
