I like that there is a lot of interesting questions and many of them help me gain a new perspective that I had never even thought of but I definetly think we could cut back on the trolling, bashing question and questions that have no sources but contain random accusations....what do you think?

I'd like to see less fighting and name calling between the Republicans/Democrats and the Conservatives/Liberals. It's useless and a waste of time. It would be more constructive to discuss issues than have all this name calling.

It would be good to see some thoughtful ideas on issues like unemployment, the growing poverty in both the United States and Canada, a thoughtful analysis of free trade (ie did it benefit everyday Americans and Canadians?), thoughts on childcare and social services, ways to reduce taxes, what should be the scope of government and a whole lot more than what I can list here including local issues.

Entertainment value. I don't think it lends itself as much to sharing ideas and is more a vehicle to promote one's particular agenda. One thing I've found about politics it's not so much about the policies, procedures or platforms that a person supports but hinges more on the one's they don't.
What I mean is, politicians and voters are far more comfortable telling you what they don't like than what they support. Complaining is much easier and safer than going out on a limb and supporting something.
This is why, I believe, these type of boards become so contentious at times. It's cheap entertainment!!!!

I participate a lot less than I used to, or more specifically, I respond to far less trolling questions; they're just looking for an angry response anyway and an excuse to report, although they themselves should be reported. Yahoo encourages you to do so...

Yahoo seems to have taken significant steps in deleting the trolls, although I still think they should do it by ISP number; that way, recurrent abusers would never get back on ~ hopefully.

A great place to vent. I think some take it too serious and leave themselves really frustrated. I enjoy my diatribes and just having fun. I really get a kick out of some responses so overall I enjoy my sojourns into Y/A Politics. I've met some great people that I like and would miss even some who really disagree. The really neat avatar below me has been a terrific adversary and I enjoy her positions and comments though we don't see thing the same way. You see this is what makes our system work. We can trash any issue around long enough to see how it manifests. This is open debate and argument so please don't let it "get to you" :-)))

I agree with you. I think someone should monitor Every question and if it is trolling or in anyway disrespectful, immediately kick it off here.

I agree. Also, many of the questions are repeated over and over again.

I think that Y/A should abandon their Abuse reporting. It would be nice if everyone was nice, but they aren't. Some people report as abuse anything they don't like. The result is that many answers are removed, but many others that are far worse are left.
The people making the decisions about removing answers and questions are very Liberal biased, so they remove Conservative answers and leave Liberal ones. It is typical of Liberals to want to silence ALL opposition.
