Should Lance Armstrong run on the Republican ticket for president?

He has professed some interest in politics. No experience. But if he was on the ticket, would you vote for him?

I would. The democrat is my usual first choice, but I think Lance would do a decent job. Especially on health care. He was on the receiving end of not having coverage when his cancer was diagnosed. Bet he would fix that in a heart beat.

I think he should campaign for congressmen first. If he wins, great! That will give us four years to examine his voting record in congress to see what he is like before committing to hearsay and promises.

... I like Lance. He is a good man. He would probably make a fine politician.

In the July 2005 issue of Outside magazine [6], Armstrong hinted at possibly running for governor, although "not in '06." By Texas political standards, he would likely run as a Democrat.[citation needed] , as he has described himself in the past as being "middle to left," "against mixing up State and Church," "not keen on guns," opposed to the Iraq War, and pro-choice with regard to abortion.
