Michael Moore is a gas bag. The healthcare in the US has kept his cholesterol laden self alive for years. Nationalizing healthcare is not the answer - none of us could afford the taxes that would be necessary to pay for such a huge burden, and our quality would deteriorate rapidly. Liberals don't see the big picture or the long term consequences of their actions - just a handout and the government checkbook. They think the word "free" will entice voters to cast in their direction. Michael Moore and the rest of the socialists need to go to Cuba and stay.

Um, that sort of shows the strong points to their system. They are able to bring specialists in from around the world because they all share the believe that medicine is for helping people, not making profit. Moore's point wasn't how great the system is, it was that the system is free, even for a poor country like Cuba. And their system does rank only two spots below us, so they would be considered about the same quality as our system.

Nah, Ted's too smart for that. He saw Fidel high tail it to Spain for his own treatment. The only people not wise to the Cuba farce are the peasants here in the US.

Once again a poster hits the nail right on the...point! Nobody in the states is talking about health CARE. The discussion is about health INSURANCE. In the case you mentioned the Americans involved couldn't get the CARE they needed in the states.....evidently they did in Cuba. Shame on us! Now if you'd like to discuss Universal Health INSURANCE for all americans, now's your chance......as long as you understand that nobody has suggested that the US government take over all the hospitals and put doctors on the federal payroll.

That is an incredibly weak argument. In many situations for many different reasons specialists are brought in on cases for a variety of reasons.

Head of a state will always get special treatment whatever the system.
We should be more concerned about younger families with children who don't have a hope in hell in this country. Just the worry of something going wrong is very stressful.

The difference between our health care system and Cuba is that everyone has access to heath care in Cuba. People here in America often consult doctors from all over with certain rare cases.
