SADAM HUSSEIN; now that he is long DEAD and gone, then shouldn't we get out of Iraq now? As it is, we are just illegal occupiers of IRAQ. We try to rationalize it by saying that we are there because of an elected government. But that elected power there is nothing but our PUPPET.

2nd q. Let democracy work. Since the republicans are gridlocking the Congress by prolonging this very expensive war, costing us here domestically- the money could have been better spent on medical care, education, and shoring up the retirement system. Should we not now show the world that our democracy works by throwing the republican party bums - out of office, the party of Bush that lied to us, circumvented the justice system, unsupportive of global warming inititiative and the party spending the money of the next generations to come. Wake up people in their 20's and 30's. Vote democratic this time and do not let the 50-60 year old republicans bankrupt our country. Don't you think so?

Impertinent answer of equating medical care with welfare! Lots of harworking people have jobs but do not have medical insurance because it is beyond their reach, after calculating low salary and employers bailing out of medical insurance.

Osama is not in IRAQ. So we're fighting terrorism in IRAQ because OSAMA is not there? Not making sense.

Out of IRAQ and use the manpower and money to go after OSAMA! Now, that makes more sense.

And searching for OSAMA in IRAQ?Even that jerk is smart enough not to be in IRAQ.

I generally agree with the first part of your question. Although the argument that we are illegal occupiers of Iraq is silly. We must however have a foreign policy that is in the interests of America and not in the interests of the Iraqi or foreign people. This little sand pit is not worth the costs in terms of men and dollars that we are putting in to it. If they wish to kill each other...let them and come home. It does not benefit us to stay there.

The second part however I do not agree. I will be voting Republican in that the Democrats are again submitting candidates that are completely unacceptable. Bush is not running in the next election. He cannot be voted out of office.

Agreed. But that region was destroyed in the 50's when America removed the Iranian president it did not like, and it hasn't stopped meddling since, always playing Iraq against Iran.
As for the democrats, I don't think they are much better than republicans. Vote for good people. CA Governer is doing fine although a republican.

I am in favor of staying in Iraq until it is stable, or the kill each other off in their civil strife. As far as the money is concerned it would have been better to leave it in the wage earners pocket. None of these huge social programs have been a success. Roosevelt did not get us out of the depression, World War II did, One of the greatest boondoggles of all time was LBJ's "great society" Global warming is just a dem ploy to control things. and if it is occurring man has very little to do with it. Our egos may feel good thinking we are that important in the scheme of things, but we aren't. And what's more we are not a democracy, never have been, and I don't want us to ever be. What we need is an intelligent, informed electorate who will go to the polls and elect responsible representatives, and if they are promising more government handouts, control, and interference we should not elect them. I was heartened by the public participation in the Amesty debacle presented to congress.

1. The main reason was oil, the second main was flexing the muscles and defying international organizations which said NO to that war and the third main reason was coming home with some results - since they didn't capture Mr. Bin Laden; nor do they have such an interest because in case they did, it's they must aim to another goal while terrorism is a gold mine after the fall of the iron curtain.

This is why you will get out of Iraq when uncle Sam will tell you to!

2. Democracy is one of the many political scam, intended to dilute responsability; didn't you notice that when it's really about results, they always impose, force and it's "political willing" how they call that violation.

OMFG, OMFG, where have you been till now? OMFG, OMFG, OMFG,... OMFG!!...!

Did you ever experience, or see in a movie, where there is one rat and when you kill it you actually uncover a whole nest of rats? Hussein may be gone, but that doesn't mean the job is done. War is hard, but I really do believe it is helping us here.

As for voting democrat next time I am not voting for the wife of a no good, accomplished nothing but getting off in the oval office president. Sorry I can't do it. And Obama would love to shake the hand and cater to dictators who think our country is evil. That scares me. If someone was standing in front of you with a gun pointed to your head would you shake their hand and ask them for a meeting? Even Hillary thinks that's crazy. Democrats give no choice. They are just as bad as republicans. It is a no win election.

I agree with almost everything you said, but if we are leaking money on a war, we shouldn't start leaking money on welfare. I can see some sort of welfare for the handicapped or elderly/children, but if you work, you should make your employer or yourself get healthcare. You should fight healthcare providers for better coverage of course.

Everything the government does gets bloated, even if the original intent was morally acceptable... then as you get older, you and future generations are stuck with these problems.

The money we are "spending" is just being borrowed, and our taxes only pay the interest on that borrowed money. Debt spending is not sustainable. That's part of the reason why our economy looks "good" but it will not last. Don't stop by fixing the symptoms, find the cure.

I'm in my late 20's, and I am voting for Ron Paul because of most of what you said.

We might as well getout of Irag and save our troops because that country is always going to be a battle ground.

You know how to choose the best suited President? Choose the one the media makes a mockery out of. There's not much difference between Demos and Repubs these decades. Its the contributors that win the election. If there's a genuine candidate out there for the people, they usually get slaughtered right before the elections of the party.

You are correct that the original mission to Iraq was indeed accomplished, that of removing Saadam Hussein from power, and trying and executing him. Its obvious that they found something else to do with our troops, as long as they were there anyway and its time they quit prolonging the fiction that democracy and arabic islam can coexist.

I dismissed the rest of you question though, sorry.

Yes, our continued occupation of Iraq is independent of why we went there in the first place. So arguments based on "but they approved going in...why are they flip-flopping now" is ridiculous. The decision now whether to stay has nothing to do with whether Saddam should have been deposed.

As far as being a democratic republic, Bush has staged a coup. He's assumed complete power, and told Congress and the Courts that he doesn't care what they say he's going to do what he wants.

Here's a few words to draw your attention to the real issue. Have your forgotten what it felt like to watch our people killed by a terrorist attack? Think about it when you stand up to vote for democractic.
