Hummer Owner Gets Angry Message
Vandals Batter D.C. Man's SUV, Slash Its Tires and Scratch In an Eco Note

By Allison Klein
Washington Post Staff Writer
Wednesday, July 18, 2007; Page B01

On a narrow, leafy street in Northwest Washington, where Prius hybrid cars and Volvos are the norm, one man bought a flashy gray Hummer that was too massive to fit in his garage.

So he parked the seven-foot-tall behemoth on the street in front of his house and smiled politely when his eco-friendly neighbors looked on in disapproval at his "dream car."

It lasted five days on the street before two masked men took a bat to every window, a knife to each 38-inch tire and scratched into the body: "FOR THE ENVIRON."

Why do they have to come here illegally and not have health exams, and English competency? From what I understand coyotes will charge 2,000 to 5,000 for EACH Mexican and someone coming from Central America will be charged upwards of 50,000...so, why don't they come here legally?

That's basically it. I know I used to but I never really knew if it was illegal and what I could face if I was caught. I would like to continue to do it because I find awesome stuff for my kids and my home that way but with two kids I don't want to get aressted either. Does anyone know if there are laws against it and what those laws are? Do different stores and like housing dumpsters have different laws? Thanks :)

Looking at the current debate on Global Warming, and the fact that environmental advocates are trying to 'save us all', isn't ironic that so many in the same movement are consistently and blatantly anti-human?

Most people cite the 'Global Cooling' scare a few decades ago, which wasn't really supported by scientists to begin with, and was a total flop. But the idea that these people can't and won't do significant damage to human beings is naive considering the evidence. Have we all forgotten about DDT?

http://www.capmag.com/article.asp?ID=3785

Averaging 1-2 million Malaria deaths a year, these people are DIRECTLY responsible for the deaths of more than 70 million human beings. And what was their reaction?

Dr. Charles Wurster, one of the major opponents of DDT, is reported to have said,

"People are the cause of all the problems. We have too many of them. We need to get rid of some of them, and this (referring to malaria deaths) is as good a way as any."

I purchased a product from a company. At the time of purchase I was given a 5 page contract to sign that was sopose to cover the company in every legal way possible on every legal ground, in a nut shell the contract stated that they would not be liable for any defect, damages, no returns etc. I skimmed through the pages and initial off the side on a few pages (these areas did not call for a signature but the sales person told me to initial the pages ). However, the final page read the following: "MY SIGNATURE BELOW INDICATES THAT I HAVE READ THIS ENTIRE AGREEMENT, UNDERSTAND IT, AND AGREE TO ALL OF ITS TERMS"(I did not sign that portion of the contract). The product was returned to the company because of defects and lack of service to resolve the matter and I disputed the charge with my Credit card company, now the company is trying to uphold the contract. Can the company uphold the contract ?

Just from observing society, I understand celebrities and public figures are seen as role models to kids. However, it seems celebs and public figures are above the law, and from this, do you think this is the way to break the rules and get away with it?
don't you think kids might see it this way. They might think, "If I am famous and I have a lot of power then most likely when I break a law I will be treated better."
Do you think instead of celebs and public figures are being paid too much money for doing a simple act, that instead the high paid jobs should go to our teachers and professors who guide our next generation and to people whose jobs require them to clean waste, human waste?
Therefore, celebs and public figures should be paid at a rate on how much most of our teachers make?
Thus will set an example to the new generation not to focus on doing simple acts, instead learn how to create, create ideas to better the society, create responsibility for the survival of one another.

Today about 20 minutes before i had to go to work i would go to the local thrift store in my small town that i live in. I had $9 in my pocket and i knew that i had to find a new phone for my bedroom so i set aside money for that. At this store they sell CDs for about $3 and i found 4 CDs that i was interested in. i knew that i could only buy one but i couldnt decide so i held onto them and walked around the store to look for my phone figureing that i would figure out which CD i wanted once i got back to the counter, and i would also look at how bad the scratches were. So i went to look for my phone and i found one, even though it was a little bigger than i planned on buying., and as i was leaving the back area of the thrift store i saw a little plushie and i knew i had to get it for my mom, so i put the cds in my pocket so they wouldnt get scratched from the phone i was carrying, then i payed and started walking out of the store. ..one problem...FORGOT THE CDS

The United States has been CAUSING genocide in Iraq since 1991. What do you call 205,000 killed during the Gulf War? What do you call 1 million dead from sanctions that continued even after Iraq destroyed its WMD in 1991? What do you call the 655,000 victims of Bush's war since 2003?

Any rational person would call it a calculated campaign to kill as many Iraqis as possible. So no, Obama, stopping genocide is not a good reason to stay in Iraq.

Stopping genocide is a good reason to LEAVE Iraq!

This will be an extensive study. One area I'd like some input is this:

Environmentalism, as a religion, has its patron saints. Here are some:

Rachel Carlson
Paul Ehrlich
Al Gore
Sting
Meryl Streep

to name but a few. I've compiled a more extensive list, but in case of any I missed, who could you add to this list? Thanks

Love Jack

I bought one of those mobility chairs off of craigslist yesterday, and I am going to tell the people that I have bone cancer too, and in a few weeks, I am going to ride the wheelchair so they will like me too. Is it illegal or anything for me to do this? I will let you know how it turns out. I just have to save up and get the batteries for it.

This editorial by retired leftist diplomat Dan Simpson provides us with one clue:

"The disarmament process would begin after the initial three-month amnesty. Special squads of police would be formed and trained to carry out the work. Then, on a random basis to permit no advance warning, city blocks and stretches of suburban and rural areas would be cordoned off and searches carried out in every business, dwelling, and empty building. All firearms would be seized. The owners of weapons found in the searches would be prosecuted: $1,000 and one year in prison for each firearm.

Clearly, since such sweeps could not take place all across the country at the same time. But fairly quickly there would begin to be gun-swept, gun-free areas where there should be no firearms. If there were, those carrying them would be subject to quick confiscation and prosecution. On the streets it would be a question of stop-and-search of anyone, even grandma with her walker, with the same penalties for "carrying."

That is my idea of how it could be done"

Love and Respect

We preach for Peace and Freedom
Unity throughout the land.
When a people do not go our way
We immediately load our guns.

We take a stand
We make demands
You must obey our rules.

Love and Respect works better,
Than threats and commands.

The Government makes the policies
They tell us what to do.
They may run the country
But it is the people who rule.

We take a stand
We make demands
You must obey our rules.

Love and Respect works better,
Than threats and commands.

For us to live in harmony
Just remove the iron bans.
For we have the power
All the people of this land.

Love and Respect works better
Than threats or commands.

A clip was shown on the news today of Barak Obama where he clearly stated to Planned Parenthood that sex education should be taught to 5 year olds in public schools scientifically (he didn't mention anything about morals). Our public schools are taxed locally and are controlled by local districts - so why would a President tell us what the curriculum should be regarding such a controversial subject?
