I agree with you. I think because they think its easier to sneak in then have to wait to get citizenship. Also because if they come here illegally and have a baby then they can get help from the government and not have to leave because their child is American. Thats way they dont have to pay ( besides the $5000 to get here)or learn anything!

They enter illegally because they know that they can. If they can cross the border, they will get a job faster than a US citizen and then can send the money back to Mexico. They can get a better education, healthcare and many other benefits that should only be going to US citizens.
If a country does not enforce their laws, then they leave it exposed to abuse by anyone who is willing to take advantage of it. These illegals are those who are willing to take advantage of the US with no concern about whether it's legal or not. They don't care.
The only way this will stop is when they cannot find a job or receive government benefits. The probems that we have today are a direct result of allowing companies to hire illegals and get by with it.
This is why it is critical to the survival of the US to end all jobs for any illegal alien. Until our country is secure, we should end all visas and immigration. The sooner we get rid of the illegals, the sooner we can allow legal immigrants a path to a better future. We are not the world's dumping ground for the rest of the world's poverty. Our kindness has become our weakness.

A Mexican with no U.S. relatives has to wait FIFTEEN YEARS to come here legally. My immigrant ancestors would not have stood for that. Would yours?
When my ancestors came to America, they were welcomed and helped by some native Americans. But there were also hostile Indians. The "politically correct" revision of history is that the hostile Indians had the right to attack my ancestors, but I don't agree with that.
Most Americans today are acting like the hostile Indians, although I think many of them would change their minds if they knew that there is no such thing as "legal" immigration (a 15-year wait is just another way of saying "keep out").

Well, the US only allows a specific number of immigrants per country per year, and the waiting list for countries like Mexico is incredibly long. So... when a Mexican resident is finally so desperate that they need to do something they decide to come illegally, deciding that the money and risk is worth getting to the US where there is more work, more money, and a more peaceful life.
Just imagine the desperation that must fuel Cubans when the decide to jump in the water hoping that they will make it to Florida.

Lack of qualifications for legal status.
Lack of motivation to apply and lack of patience to wait for approval.
Criminal backgrounds which they know would disqualify them.
Health risks, such as TB and other disease which would disqualify them.
Some that would qualify as temporary guest workers do not apply because of the limitation of the guest worker visa.
Past violations of immigration law that disqualify them.
There is a myriad of reasons and excuses.

Well I have heard that it costs $500 U.S to just get the illegals across the border. $2500 U.S to get them as far as North Carolina. It's the wait time they can't handle. Most illegals just come to make their quick retirement money anyway. Then go back home, and live high off the hog.

Hello,
I dunno. Frustration at the buracrates and the long process of waiting. How come so many foreign celebrities and lately that big British Soccer star got in with the snap of a finger and did not wait a few years in line like all the others? Shows too much double standards and hypocracy as discussed on CNN a few nights back.

Seems like it would be cheaper and safer to just get a tourist visa and go Greyhound.
We take in more legal immigrants than all the other countries combined - if you think it's hard to get in here try another country.

Much easier this way, and, they probably would not pass the health exam and have criminal records. That is why so many of these illegal criminals end up in our jails, at our expense.
