Gore and his guests at the weekend ceremony dined on Chilean sea bass - arguably one of the world's most threatened fish species.

Also known as Patagonian toothfish, the species is under pressure from illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing activities in the Southern Ocean, jeopardising the sustainability of remaining stocks.

I believe global warming exists, but libs, this is why your boy Gore has ZERO credibility.

I know it sounds childish but I recently went on a rant about an ex friend in a blog. I used no names and no threats just your everyday venting and b*tching sort of thing. How far would I have to go in order for it to no longer be considered free speech?

In my opinion, I believe Washington is far too corrupt to adequately serve the American people. To this end, what if we changed the requirements for elected officials to eliminate the financial and politcal motivations.

Here's a start:

- Create a process which allows anyone to run for office, not just those with money. For starters, eliminate all campaign contributions and fund the campaigns from the government campaign fund, controlled by candidate requirements.
- No income (including non-cash gifts) from outside sources while elected.
- Eliminate the political parties and make candidates stand on their own values.
- Upon being elected, the person must turn over all assets to the government (including cash, stocks, bonds, etc.). After their term, they would receive a pension, sized according to position.

I believe this would be a start to getting true civil servants in our government and eliminate the corruption.

Thoughts? More ideas?

We have been having problems with someone who lives next door to our business, he has been making physical threats against myself, the owner and the business in general. He feels he has been wronged by us, when in all sincereity he wronged us. He has threatened to come to our houses and F*** us up and that he has a lot of friends and this that and the other. I am a young female and 7 months pregnant and just dont need the stress. And would rather the entire thing would just go away. I just started being the General Manager here and this had been going on for a sometime before I started, now because I stood up to the guy he seems to have targeted me. I have called the police and they say that it is a matter for the civil courts to decide. I dont want to wait that long for this to be resolved civilly. I am a passive person and threats of violence have never been a part of my life. Any help would be great

If the American people could vote on key issues The results may shock you.
1. Universal health care- CBS news poll 64 % favor
2. Gay marriage- New york Times poll 55% against
3. Aborton- CNN poll 77% legal
4. Late term abortion- ABC news poll 62% illegal
5. Stricter gun control- Time magazine poll 93 % against

So by going with these figures there would be universal healthcare, gay marriage would be not allowed, aborion would be legal, late term abortion would be illegal and gun control laws would remain the same.
Your thoughts?

I just recieved a confirmation email from my bank that someone set themselves up as a direct payee to recieve a check for $1800 in the mail. I am in NY and it was to be sent to California. I called the bank last night and they said that they will put a stop to the check. How does someone do that? And should the bank be liable for allowing this transaction?

Why don't more people in this country vote? Also, why do we make election days on Tuesdays versus the weekend?

The solution to the problem with people abusing too many IDs would be a requirement to pay a monthly subscription fee for posting limited number of messages. Only one ID per credit card would be allowed.
A pricing scheme similar to monthly cell phone plans could be introduced (the number of messages posted per month would be equivalent to minutes of talk time). If a person exceeds the monthly limit, additional messages would be charged at higher rate.

Would you be willing to pay for this service and how much?

Please provide answer in the following format: $ per month / number of posts allowed ( for example: $5 / 300 posts)

How much should additional posts (beyond limit) cost?
