I point out christians of the past used biblical scripture to burn witches, kill heretics, convert jews under threat of death, own slaves, wage holy wars, kill jews, and oppose women's rights, interracial marriage, birth control pills, and invitro fertilization.

How can christianity evolve if the word of God is supposedly eternal?

If you say christians of the past interpreted scriptures incorrectly, how can you be so sure you are interpreting them correctly today?

"Ignorance of the law is no excuse!" If you ever used the excuse "I didn't know that was a law", you know what I'm talking about. Today, if you don't know things, it's alright. The U.S. has lowered it's standards to allow certain masses of people to advance. This is called "Dummying Down" where I come from.

for ex:
I bought things for my ex-friend, loan her a lot of money and she won't pay me back, I tried to leave notice under her door, when she found out she start yelling at me, calling me names just because of the notice under her bedroom door. I wanted to seize some of her things until she pays me back.
Would that be a good Idea or would I have to let the police be aware of what I would be doing before hand

I have a friend who is a big time gamer and came up with a game controller for Halo that many ppl find to be really good and want. He made a post about finding ppl to help him make the controllers but since Im more into law and history than games I recommended that he get a patent on the controller first before he made orders for ppl so that no one could steal his idea. His really good with technology and I think he should put a patent on his creations so that no one can take credit for what he does. He's sending me the info about it but for anyone out there who knows the law or is a professional, what do you think he should do?

I am in the process of building a new home in Oklahoma. the house is about 75% complete. I am having a problem because the contract states I was suppose to have 10ft wide, 8ft tall doors on my garage but the contractor didn't make the ceiling in the garage high enough to do that. Long story short, I only have 10x7 foot doors and there is no way to put a 10x8 because the ceilings are too short. My question is, what are my options? I feel I a owed some sort of compensation for this but don't know how much. I would really rather have the doors the size I ask for than money but don't want to wait months for them to bust out concrete and reframe the entire garage. Any knowledgable suggestions appreciated.

America think they help the most countries in wars, when really they have made them worse take iraq, they have lost the war there and i do think we (the UK) were silly to aid them, they march in there to restore power but not into places where there needed, like in the fawklands war, the Uk needed them as a base but they dont help, and maily in the second world war, they didnt come into the war untill pearl hearber when they we attacked, and whats there nonsence about them saving us, the WW2 would have been lost if it hadent been for the UK or russa.
Oh and i dont care that i cant spell, and im not from the USA im from the UK

I have been complaining about Sen. Warner of VA for weeks,as he has been a vocal critic of the war in Iraq, but has continued to vote to continue the current course. I would like to apologize to him at this point, as he is finally proposing legislation to change the course of this tragic war. Good for him.

"Another skeptic on the panel is Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, the committee's top Republican. Lugar and Sen. John Warner, R-Va., have drafted legislation that would require Bush to deliver to Congress by mid-October a new military strategy to end major combat."

If enough of us show interest maybe the "board" will schedule one. It would be great to meet one another. Who will bring the potato salad? We already have enough baloney.

Or at least the pilots? if somebody wanted to hijack a plane, they could just shoot them. Disarming us is not going to make us safer, it will make us more vulnerable to attacks.

Ok, you all know the deal. 9/11 Conspiracy theorists ask the questions like "Why did building 7 collapse?", "Why did the towers go straight down?", or "Why was there no plane wreckage at the Pentagon?"

Now, indeed, maybe there are simple answers to these questions. However, when the US government refuses to give those simple answers, that is what makes the people believe the theories.

when the senate held a recent all-night session with regards to the Iraq war, it was reported circa nightly news that the president planned to veto the decision to begin pulling troops out of Iraq by April 2008. Although the measure fell short of the votes needed to pass, the president's decision to veto it should it pass was made even prior to the cessation of the meeting of the senate, which would ultimately mean that the president had decided that no matter what the senate said he would still veto the measure and that the all-night session was essentally nothing more than a mere joke, as it would do nothing to change the presiden't mind. My question is how could the president alone simply decide he was going to veto the measure without even LISTENING to the senate? Can you say autocracy?
