The government is not evil, they are trying to protect us, by DISARMING us. It is for your PROTECTION! don't you get it? If wee all just give up our civil liberties to the government, we will be SAFE from the islamofashits.

We give them civil liberties because all of the pansy liberals. They "listen to their hearts" not to their brains. God didn't give us brains so we could think with our emotions.

Conservative:
Terrorists want to destroy the free world, therefor they are bad. They should be interned without parole, and every drop of information possible should be squeezed from their miserable bodies. Many lives could be saved in the process.

Liberal:
Terrorists hate us because of something we've done. We should try to "understand" what's "upsetting" them. And besides, who's to say that we're "right" and they're "wrong"? Their just from a different "culture". We should give them rights because they're human too. Who cares if they've killed hundreds of people, they deserve protection under the Constitution just like any upstanding American citizen. (Huh?)

But I'm guessing you're trying to accuse Bush of taking away our civil liberties. Exactly what liberties have you lost? The right to get on a plane quickly? The right to transfer funds to terrorist organizations? The right to communicate with terrorists? I must have missed those in the constitution.

So what civil liberties have we given up?

You don't have to live in the country with a constitution that puts our liberties ahead of any thing else. I'm not saying "love it or leave it" or something stupid like that but there are countries like Laos and Myanmar, [formerly Burma] where civil liberties and due process and such do not exist. Try it out. I'll wager you'll be back real soon.

There are dictatorships that would probably be happy to welcome you as a defetor. Try the DPRK, the girls are pretty.

But, here in America, we have the presumption of innocence, so you can't punish people before you convict them.

Mind you, there's a lot of leeway built into our government in which some rights of some people can be compromised in the interests of national security or the protection of the people - but even those cases don't hold up in the long run.

Your right,... our Freedoms are being stripped one by one. I feel like the frog in the water just waiting for it to boil. They have put most of the laws in place that the government needs to control us. They just need to use them, they'll think of something.

I heard just the other day that they have been talking about starting a new war here in the states, a war on pouchers...WTF? I didn't realize that we had a huge poucher problem. but I guess it is woth millions to bury GPS metal detecting devices throughout the country that could track a person or group moving on the ground with metal objects (rifle, knife) .

Well I guess there is nothing to worry about......right. Unless we need to fight for our rights one day.

Support the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.

We let terrorists have civil liberties for the same reason we let fascists like you have civil liberties: Because that is what makes us America. Love it or leave it.

Ok. We'll start with freedom of speech. From now on you are banned from Y!A. Don't ever say anything on here again. If I catch you I'm telling the FBI.

Anyone who is willing to give up freedom for a sense of security deserves neither.

I don't know, really. They should have no more than basic human rights. I don't believe that terrorists or American prison inmates should have more than that.
