An MSNBC.com investigation by Bill Dedman, posted Thursday, documented that of 144 journalists identified as having "made political contributions from 2004 through the start of the 2008 campaign," the "newsroom checkbooks leaned to the left: 125 journalists [87 percent] gave to Democrats and liberal causes. Only 17 gave to Republicans," a 7-to-1 tilt. (Two contributed to both parties.)

But while most of those found by Dedman work in local markets, for opinion-oriented publications or hold non-news coverage positions such as music reviewer or copy editor, several are mainstream media journalists. Amongst those listed by Dedman for donating to Democratic party committees, the Kerry campaign or anti-Bush left-wing groups: a correspondent and a producer for CBS's Sunday Morning, a CNN reporter now with NPR, NPR's newscaster during All Things Considered as well as another NPR correspondent, a correspondent for NBC's Dateline, a Senior Editor at Time magazine, the "ethics" columnist

Lets face it, Bush and company have done nothing but lie to the American people since 9-11. The entire reason to go into Iraq was a lie from day one but the die hard republicans will faithfully repeat any new pile of BS released by Bush and his cronies.

I really hope Al Gore runs for president and wins. He was right about global warming, the war in Iraq, and many other things. However can anyone with information on this subject tell me how likely it is that he will run?

PS: I expect some Gore-bashers to come in here and try to put him down without any evidence at all but please keep it to a minimum. Thanks.

how many people will think ? what caused the problems in the middle east? if some one came in and took your home and country, killed your children , wife and parents, what would your reaction be? well, that is exactly what happened tothe Palestanians, when the Zionist underhanded stole the country from the Palestanians, just research history, sure Britain and the U,S, gave the Zionist the go ahead and have supported that cause ever since, the murder of the Arabic people their children families etc, what right did we have to give this land to the Zionist ? it was not ours to give, even the real Jew's are highly upset about this evil sceme, and we would be at war now with any other country or people who killed women and
children and civilians the way the I,D,F, KILLS THE ARABS.
AND THE OTHER aRAB COUNTRY'S SEE HOW WE SUPPPORT iSRAEL IN THEIR EVIL HATE US FOR IT,do ou really blame them?? be honest how would you feel? what would you do? seeing your brothers family and country destroyed ?

Iraq's pres (the new Saddam) say they can take care of themselves.... I say, great! Bring our heroes home and let's be done with them. Our main intent for invading the middle east was Osama bin Laden NOT to invade an unarmed, unrelated country.

The only offense Saddam ever commited agains America was to insult Lil 'w's daddy.

I am a minor, or I am under 18 years of age. I know that many laws do not apply to me because of this. I know that if I were to sign my name to any document it would be void if it were presented in a court setting (I reside in U.S.A.)
I want to go online and fill out some of those surveys that say they will send you free stuff (ipods, and the like). However, all say you must be 18 or older. My question is, because I am under the age of eighteen and I am a minor, can I legally tell the online survey that I am eighteen and not be punished by law?

Baltimore has elected a Democrat since 1967 (Detroit since 1962). Things keep getting worse and worse and worse. The murder rate there keeps rising, it is awful. Yet people keep voting the same incompetent leaders in.

In New York, it was not until a GOP mayor came in that the city was livable and visitable again. I don't support Giuliani in the upcoming election, and I won't vote for him if he gets the GOP nod, but he did great work in NY. You would think cities like Detroit and Baltimore would get a clue.

I'm from Europe, and I have always had the perception that drug abusers tend to be punished rather than treated in the United States.

I was wondering, what would the immediate consequences be for, let's say an 18 year old, who is caught with a joint on his person? Are we talking jail time, and then probation, or treatment, counseling, etc?

If that same person was caught with a very hard drug, like "crystal meth" (I don't know what it is, just that it's very strong), would the case be different?

In Sweden, you are usually not punished per se, but required to take urine tests for a while, see a counselor and show that you are staying away from drugs and criminality.

Also, and finally, which way do you think work the best? Throw an 18 year old in jail, or have him (or her!) treated?

Thanks for your input!

Where can I find forms for that? What steps should a teen take? I want to help someone who is in an extremely bad situation, living with several unrelated families and single men in her mother's apartment.

I already know about child protective services. I am asking specifically about the process to become an emancipated adult. Thanks for your help!

Blue states** are actually at the top when it comes to the median household income. The lowest on the list include Tennesee, Oklahoma, Alabama, New Mexico, Kentucky, Lousiana, Montana,Arkansas, Mississippi and at the bottom West Virginia. These are all red states**. Also the 70% of the top ten richest cities per capita*** are in Blue States. The top ten are San Jose, CA, Anchorage, AK, San Francisco, CA, Virginia Beach, VA, San Diego, CA, Anaheim, CA, Raleigh, NC, Seattle WA, Washington D.C. and Honolulu, HI. Also four cities in the U.S. show up on the richest cities (overall) in the world. New York is the world's fifth richest city Los Angelos tenth is Chicago and Miami is the twentysecond. 3 out of 4 of these cities are in Blue states.
