I recently (8 months ago) won lottery (power Ball) I'll decline to give the amount because its irrelevant long story short the Lady that I was with at the time we stayed together for about 4 months after that and needless to say money changes people. We broke up, and this will make her 2 nd time getting a lawyer to try and press charges to sue me. This time she states that 50% of the winning is hers because she is the reason why I came to Tennessee to live and if it wasn't for that I would not have won.
The first time was the day after we broke up she stated that blah blah pain and suffering and I decided to give her 50k to settle out of court and just be done with it. I guess she figured that was only about 5% of my winnings and she wanted more.

My opinion: She cant prove that I came here and thats the reason why I won BUTTTT! ever since that last episode you'd be suprise of what people can get away with if you have a decent lawyer.

Also had a house in our name. Had 2 sell it

Sure is a lot of liberal bashing going on tonight. Face it. You are the people who put Bozo in office. Why do you think anyone cares what you have to say now?

You conservative cheerleaders...what color are your bloomers?

Must i remind them who are Liberals

Virtually every step forward in our history has been a liberal initiative taken over conservative opposition: civil rights, Social Security, Medicare, rural electrification, the establishment of a minimum wage, guaranteed bank deposits, the Federal Reserve, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Food and Drug Administration, the National Park Service, the National School Lunch Program, the Voting Rights Act, collective bargaining, the Pure Food and Drug Act, and federal aid to education, including the land-grant colleges, to name just a few. Many of these innovations were eventually embraced by conservatives only after it became clear that they had overwhelming public approval for the simple reason that almost every American benefited from them. Every one of these liberal efforts strengthened our democracy and our quality of life. Democrats/liberals are the party of the people as its history attests.

I think this one MAY be split down party lines...Should the Congress of the United States work on legalizing all types of drugs (pot etc. ) or try to bring about World Peace?

Either WORLD PEACE or LEGALIZED DRUGS?

I hear that many think we will be able to seek independent medical treatment outside the government healthcare system. This is highly flawed logic even more so than some of the other problems i see with socialized healthcare. The moment the government is willing to foot the insurance companies will cease to provide medical insurance. They will take all their premiums and run. The companies we work for will stop paying for our insurance since the government is going to do that for them.

This will result in a loss of many jobs in the insurance and medical billing field. Yes our healthcare system is expensive and has problems but unversal is not the way to go.
Lets reform our civil courts to cut down on petty lawsuits. Retire the ambulance chasers and insurance will get cheaper.

Here is a question. If they give universal healthcare to the people will they give universal malractice insurance for our doctors. Heck that would proabably work better and be cheaper than UHC.

Do we live in a world where the media reflects the reality or creates a virtual one? I'm Brazilian. I live in Brazil and Brazil has gone through a period of dictatorship, unfortunately. We are coming out of this period of darkness when the media only said good things about it. Nowadays we still can’t trust the media. It defends only the most privileged. But my question is this: Is there any reliable media? Let’s take the US media as example. I notice there are very few Americans who can tell me why the US has been so much attacked recently not only physically but also in the more independent international media (everywhere). The average American is unaware of the reasons of so much hate against his country. There is the international media and then there is the US media which creates its own reality to be broadcasted and believed by 99% of their public. Some believe that democracy is the right to vote. But, how can anyone vote if no reliable information is available?

I've noticed alot of stereotypes about countries with Universal Health care are awfully incorrect (ie: 9 months in Canada to have an MRI.... ya it doesn't work that way lol).

Usually the only problems in countries with Universal Health coverage is that its not fully funded (like in Canada... because Provinces fund it and not the Feds.. it differs from place to place). I think perhaps many should actually educate themselves on the matter as opposed to simply listening to mind numbing ignorance. What do you think?

yet still have people believe there is no justification for impeachment?

"Most authorities agree--and the precedents are in accord--that an impeachable offense is not limited to conduct which is indictable. Conduct that undermines the integrity of a public office or is in disregard of constitutional duties or involves abuse of power is generally regarded as grounds for impeachment. Since impeachment is a drastic sanction, the misconduct must be substantial and serious."

Louisiana Passes Near-Total Abortion Ban
Today Louisiana’s President of the Senate and Speaker of the House signed SB 33, approving a ban on abortion with an amendment to permit it only in order to save the woman’s life to avoid “permanent impairment.” There are no exceptions for cases of incest or rape. The ban is a trigger law, meaning it will only go into effect if Roe v. Wade is overturned.

All that remains to be done is for the Governor to sign the bill. In a recent interview, Gov. Kathleen Blanco said she’d sign it as is.

Kathleen Blanco is a Democrat.
