When one refuses to be a part of the economy in a productive manner, of course everything will look a bit dismal.

Because for all of Bush's faults and believe me they are legion, the economy is the one good bright spot in his presidency.

When Bush entered office we were in a recession. Then 9/11 happened and everything changed. Gas went up as did oil. Commodities went up and our economy came dangerously close to a depression.

But for all that look at the economy today. The Dow is poised to jump above 14000 with many experts predicting upwards of 15000 by the end of this year. Better yet, the S&P and NASDAQ much better indicators of how our economy is doing our at all time highs.

On the international front he could do better. The dollar has fallen off because we have so much foreign money invested in the US. But the deficit for the first time since Clinton is falling and the trade deficit is holding steady.

The Democrats say the economy is bad because it is the lone good spot for Bush. They hammer him when the economy drops but shut up when it does well like right now. All the Dems can do is say that the rich and middle class taxpayers should give more money to the gov't and the poor.

In short the economy is doing well and that is why liberals say it is bad.

Because you are only semi liberal- since you aren't a full fledged socialist everything that may be connected to you from the liberal slant is bad or wrong.
By the way, could you close the border and release those 2 innocent border patrol agents jailed for shooting that drug dealer in the butt?.

The huge debt we are paying.
The huge amount of interest we are paying on that debt.
The plunging value of the dollar
The inflation caused by rising gas.
The rising Gas prices.
Plummeting housing values.
etc. etc.

The economy is strong now because we essentially have a war economy. All these problems will catch up with us, just wait and see.

its not that the economy is bad. its the fact that the dollar is falling at freefall speed. its value dropped 1 cent in just one week last week alone. they are destroying the value of the dollar on purpose so that they can convince us we need the north american union and the new currency, the amero. it will be announced late this summer/early fall. already been announced.

not to mention the 3 BILLION DOLLARS PER DAY we borrow from China to pay for the war on terror.

I wouldn't call it bad, but it's certainly not good either.

Gas costs so much that consumer confidence has waned.

Housing market is in the toilet too.

When we START (yes start) to pay for this war, the economy is going to take a real hit. Bush is essentially running a war on credit.

They only know what their leaders tell them. The numbers are fantastic, but the Libs say the economy is going in the wrong direction, so the sheep follow.

Because, unlike what W tries to tell you, the unemployment is really 3 times as bad as it looks, because the #'s are on those still collecting, not those that have exhausted theirs and are still without jobs, and 300,000 McDonald jobs does not mean we are in a growth spurt!
