Though we like to claim that there were no "written" laws about immigration when the Pilgrims arrived we all know they did so at the complete & utter detriment & almost total demise of the Native Americans. Our ancestors used the Natives they dubbed as "savages" to learn to survive here then mercilessly & cruelly killed the majority of them who refused to submit to our "laws" & ways. We like to claim it was so long ago it doesn't matter anymore. We like to claim it wasn't us "personally" doing it so it's ok. Water under the bridge. No big deal. But in reality it places all of us with Europeon ancestry as "ILLEGALS" & the anchor babies of illegals. Even when laws were established allowing others in it was only because they were following the precedent established by the first illegal aliens - the Pilgrims.

So who do we think we are labeling others as "illegals?" Last time I checked all of our backs were still a little wet.

Has Bush made the presidency a joke?
He's been a lame duck president for the last 4 years and nobody (witht eh exception of that damned 30% of America) seems to respect him.

Now we don't have any serious candidates for the Presidency which will almost certainly allow Hillary to slip right in due to lack of a good other choice.

Bush's lies and corruption (pardoning libby for example) only reinforce the image of the fat pork republican scumbag.

Here are some things he said that sound liberal -
- Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
- Blessed are the meek; for they shall inherit the earth
- Sell that thou hast and give to the poor.
- How many times should we forgive one who sins against us ? Not seven times, but seventy times seven
-Whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also
-Love your enemies, bless them that curse you ... do good to them that hate you
-Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth .... You cannot serve God and mammon
-Inasmuch as you have done unto the least of these, you did it unto me

If he really returns soon, the conservatives who are eagerly waiting for him, will probably try to deport him

I have met Hillary Clinton in person and heard her speak during her beggining time as Senator.

Honestly of all the female leaders, she doesn't seem to be standalone powerful to me.

I think I would vote her in just to get the BILL CLINTON FACTOR and I assume alot of America feels this way too based on polls.

I would have liked to see Condi Rice run against Hillary but she has been so contaminated by the Bush presidency that she'd esily lose that one.

What do you think?

Why do I have to follow ethical/religious guide lines that only fan up hatred and imped scientific progress? Whats the problem with aborting a literally brainless (lacks a head) featus from a mentally handicapped woman (who knowingly consented to the procedure), and who was raped by a blood relative? The fetus will be used for stem cell research, to better mankind.

Note: this is a hypothetical case as to not have uber-christians firebomb my house, or to violate anyones privacy.

We knew the price of beef would go up when ethanol fuel from corn began being subsidized by our tax dollars. The profits from growing corn have gone through the roof thanks to our (the tax payers) generosity or congresses stupidity!. Not only are beef prices are up (what do cows eat?) but so is milk, icecream and cheese. What will they do now, increase subsidies on milk so the politicians won't be accused of adversely affecting childrens developement?

It's getting so bad that the UN says they can't afford to feed the starving Africans any more. Doesn't anyone consider ALL the consequences before catering to environmental activists and big agriculture lobyists? Or did they think a few hundred-thousand Africans wouldn't be missed.

3 candidates come before you
candidate #1
To get through college i worked part time, my parents assisted me but they were unable to give enough, i worked hard and it took longer, but i did it honest and i am proud of what i did

candidate #2
I joined the military to get through college, times were tough in the area i was born and i didnt have alot of options

candidate #3
Working a part time job for too many years is too difficult, and i didnt want to be ordered about in the military. I sold drugs for 3 hours a week to get through college, far better than toiling away to make somebody else rich

assuming their issues are not significantly different, which candidate would you vote for?

Appeals to "character" are often shady, hollow statements. Character is poorly defined. Good leadership in my opinion is a function of analytical intelligence applied with determination to a wealth of experience. That's what I am looking for.

Ok I am currently engaged to a man in the U.S.Army and we have planed on moving to North Carolina in November. Some how my ex found out and is now taking me to court for custody of my childern which he hasn't really had anything to do with since the day they were born. This is just his way of hurting me and making sure I can't leave this state. I had told this to a friend of mine who is a SGT. in the Army and he told me that the law is differnt when it comes to the Army and its families. Unfortunatly he got called away and wasn't able to explain everything to me. My hearing is this Thursday and I don't have much time to figure everything out, and whats worse I haven't been able to tell my baby yet and I'm not sure how to. We had talked about him adopting my boys, but since my ex wants to be an ***, I'm driving myself up a wall trying to figure everything out. Is there any rules regulation anything that might be able to help me/us out incase my ex does by chance get joint custody?

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that republicanism supports the view that the government should refrain from intervening in the lives of the people.

However, recently it seems the republican party has been intervening more and more. Abortion, gay marriage, gay adoption, the patriot act, prayer in public schools, etc. Can anyone shed some light?

my hubby and i do not understand what capital ganes is and what it means, is there anyway to avoide it? what if he took his share of the sale and bought another cottage?.....any differance?

how is the amount of the capital gaines added up?

what else should i be asking or need to know?

Should we ignore the possibility that the motives of these people may not be quite as noble as they claim ?---Who are these people who seem to have such an irrational zeal to rid us of a Presdent who looks and talks like a humble little man.
When our planes were droping bombs all over Iraq his popularity was higher than any President in our history.
But once we got soldiers on the ground, they looked like rats leaving a sinking ship.
Could some of these protesters be soldiers who were willing to accept the military benifits but not the fighting?
Could some be the relatives of these bug-outs?
Might many of them be women, who have always been opposed to any War and have never been expected to be worriors?( like Shehan)
Could they be political opponents on many levels, who are hoping to receive some of the spoils of their party getting into power?
I don't really know who they are, but should we assume that they are the patriots they claim to be ,while they shout w/ such hatred.

Who here remembers how they felt on 9/11/01. I was shocked, at first I didn't believe that this could really be happening. Soon, however, my shock turned to anger and I knew that we had to get those who were responsible.

It seems to me that many people have forgotten how they felt on 9/11 and I recently found a video on YouTube that demonstrates why we can't forget.
