You can take your cell phone to basic.
But they will pack it with the rest of your civilian gear and store it in a locked closet for the duration of basic training.
It actually makes sense to take several sets of civilian clothes and even a coat or jacket to basic.
You have to remember, basic will be two months long, then you will be at Tech School for a month before your allowed to wear civilian clothes.
Thats three months, so plan accordingly for what the weather will be like three months after you leave for basic.
They won't throw your stuff out, they won't ship it back home, they will just lock it away while your in basic.
They aren't even gonna give you alot of grief for bringing it.
This is the Air Force, not the Marines.

You are not allowed any such luxuries in any boot training. If you do bring a cell phone it will be confiscated and you will only get to use it at your DIs leisure and that would probably not be until the very end of your boot training. How do you expect to be an asset to the civil liberty of the United States if you're yakking with your teeny bopper buddy 500 miles away. It's no question the youth of today don't have any concern for anything, but themselves. Rest assured though if you are in the field you will get to use a cell phone. You'll want to be able to communicate with your family which may be all you will get to do other than insuring yourself and your unit are secure from harm by the enemy.

I don't know about enlisted basic training, but I finished officer basic training for the air force a few months ago. I was allowed to have my cell phone with me. I expect they will allow you to have it when you arrive. Most people don't travel without them anymore. That way you can call home and tell them you arrived safely. After which, they will confiscate it and either mail it and your clothes back home, or keep it locked up until after you graduate.

Ha ha ha...sorry.
Our current, youthful generation are so addicted to them.
Don't get bent out of shape. I'm a high school teacher. I wish I could take all the kid's cell phones and throw them out the window.
In any case, no.
You can't take anything, except some very small items such as a piece of paper with addresses and phone numbers on it, maybe a picture or two, and a teddy bear if you really need it.
Anything extra will either be shipped back, or tossed out (your preference).
You will be allowed to use phones at certain times, you will probably have to buy a calling card for when you use them.

Nope, you will get tore up (not phyisically, just with push ups and stuff). ONLY bring what is on the list. Do not bring contraband, if found you will be hating life.
That being said, if you remotely have a brain, AF Basic training is a breeze. It sucks, but its still a breeze.

Are you kidding me??? You have no life when you go to basic training, even if it is the air force. GO NAVY!!! Anyways, they will issue you a bunch of uniforms. For I believe its 6 weeks RT for the USAF, you own almost nothing but these unifoms. You can take one, but all your civillian clothes and possessions will either be sent home, or given to goodwill. You can't keep anything for the duration of RT.

If the military wants you to have it. They will issue it. If you didn't travel civilian airlines to basic them might strip you in MEPS and put you in smurfs. ( Or whatever the airforce calls them)
