Why do you NOT think it's right to do so?

Are we to believe there are NO AMERICAN murderers, drunk drivers, identity thieves, pedophiles, tax evaders, welfare defrauders, drug dealers, and your average wife beaters?!?! The news I see on TV, the newspapers I read are FILLED with AMERICAN CITIZENS guilty of ALL of the above-mentioned crimes.

Plenty of people lump illegals with murderers. In fact, I asked this question based on an answer I read to another question in which one answerer did indeed lump them all in the same category.

My "additional details" are a QUOTE from one of the answers I was given. Not my agenda. A simple question. So far, no one seems able to be able to intelligently answer it.

I think it is completely wrong to associate the two. One is a human being trying to make a better life for him and his family where as the other is taking human life away and giving grief to the victims family.

No, not unless they are. They should be lumped into the same category of people who have committed ID theft and people who have driven on suspended licenses, or people who have used fake ID's.

Initially, they should be treated as if they were committing a crime such as these but also they should be deported upon being caught. Then if caught again, treated as if it were the second offense, third and so on. Jail time would be needed just like anyone else here who commits these crimes.

Manslaughter would only be if they drove and killed someone or murder would be only if they murder someone.

Some of them are murderers, then ya got the drunk drivers, the identity thieves, pedophiles, tax evaders, welfare defrauders, drug dealers, and your average wife beater. they are all criminals. And it all starts with the CRIME of coming here illegally in the first place.

Someone is going to now make the statement that "not all of them are"

My answer to that is How do you know? How does anyone know? We don't know them, they snuck into the country, no paperwork or background check.

To the person directly above me... No one here mentioned legal immigrants, don't even try lumping the two groups together.

Yeah there are Americans that commit these crimes, I never said otherwise. THAT'S WHAT MAKES THEM CRIMINALS.

Using the excuse that Americans commit crimes is NO justification for any crime committed by an illegal alien.
If they weren't here, they couldn't commit crimes here period.
Murders are committed by illegal aliens and that is inexcusable, just as any murder is. But a murder by an illegal would have been prevented if the illegal alien wasn't here.
95% of LA's outstanding homicide warrants are for illegal aliens. That's pretty high since the population of LA hasn't yet reached 95% illegals.
If there were no illegals here, the prisons wouldn't be as overcrowded. Police would have more time to work on crime prevention. Courts would be less overwhelmed.
Illegal aliens and murderers do fit in the same category.
Law-breakers who disdain our society's rules for our common good.

BTW...Immigration is not illegal...illegal aliens are not immigrants.

Of course not.
Murderers and child molesters are the worst scum on earth.
You are comparing two different levels of lawbreaking.
That said, illegals are still criminals.
Do you think it's a realistic comparison to lump legal immigrants in the same category as illegals who come here to aid in the recoquista efforts against a sovereign nation?

You are right...Look, I am a German Doctor (who arrived to Mexico at age 9) and I am a naturalized Mexican...
Its really a pity to see my country in the state of corruption and misery in which it is found nowadays.....
When I visit the USA I have to suffer the humiliation of lots of people doubting that indeed, I am Mexican..
I can include myself (medical doctor, with a PhD in London Univ), as another undesired visitor of the US of America, because I am proud to carry and posses LEGALLY a Mexican Passport, and being Mexican Myself....
You are quite right....There is an abysmal difference, and prejudice has cause wars....
Many people nowadays in the US, considered the most powerful, and developed country on earth, , have the same chain of thoughts that the Nazi country mates of my original land, had back in the early 40s....Its a shame----

Different crimes have different punishments. Murder is a capitol crime ( punishable by death or life in prison)

Purposely entering the US without documentation is a serious offense but less than murder. I would think it should be similar to robbing a convenience store.

Illegally entering the US should be a felony.

I don't think an illegal alien should be lumped in with murders unless, on top of all of the other laws they have broken, they have committed murder too.

**You have PLENTY of intellectual answers posted here...you just can't find one that agrees with YOU!!

Both are criminals. Both break the law with no concern over the damage it is doing to their victims.

The pro-crime crowd will often try to break out the "but they're just trying to make a better life for themselves" argument.. but it simply doesn't work. Drug dealers are simply trying to make a better life for themselves. Bank robbers are simply trying to make a better life for themselves.

illegals has such a negative term (like a murderer). they are simply undocumented immigrants.

they shouldn't be lumped as murderers...they should be lumped in with citizens & resident aliens who "forget" to properly declare their property with customs when entering the country.

these people are looking for a better life and taking huge risks to make that life in the US...a concept country was founded on.obviously, it's not easy for them to enter legally.
