He should have entered you into the DEERS program. If he has, all you need to do is go to the ID office at the nearest base, present a ID and tell them what you're there for. They should be able to bring up your info on the computer.
To be on the safe side, take your marriage license, a LES if you have one of his, and the information on where he is stationed right now.

Unless the Af is different than the Army you will need a special POA from your husband, though we have been married 10 and 1/2 yrs when I went to BCT they took my Dependent Id card , and my husband had to send me a special POA to get a new one ( hes Active as I am Guard) once I return home (he was deployed when I was still in training).

Your husband should have enrolled you in deers ( while in Tech school) , and should be getting family seperation pay as well as housing allowance, unless Af is different from the Army.
I was able to get a will and other things done while in AIT.
He just need to let them know what needs to be done they will help him. Star Card isnt going to help you they do ask for your Military Id.

We were stationed at FT.Sam had my son at Lackland, even tried few months ago to go back, loved it there!
Good luck and Congrads!!

I'm not 100% certain, but I do think he will need to run a special request chit (or whatever the AF calls them - that was a Navy thing) through his chain of command.

Once that is signed off, then you would take that, and applicable paperwork, to any military base with an office that can issue cards. Not every base has that office, but many do.

Hon, he has to set this up with his command to get you into the DEERS system. You need paperwork that certifies you as his dependant. You should be recieving that as soon as he is out of training and able to sit down with the Human Services on his base. Hold your horses Cookie, it'll happen soon.

He should be able to set up an appointment for you to go to a local base and get your ID. You will need it if you need any medical care so you should get it right away! Good LucK! And welcome to the military family lifestyle. I have been a dependant for well over 20 years!

Go to the nearest base's ID card section and have them look you up in the DEERS enrollment. When they find you are in the system, you will be able to get your ID card.

i haven't heard of every person different than DOD civilians, military workers and instant family members getting a military identity. i do no longer think of you've the capacity to get her one at any base.

outside most bases security gates there is a small building thank deals with people losing id's or forgeting them go talk to them they might also give out new id's. Have your husband talk to his commander.
good luck and thank you both for what your doing

If he cannot be there with you in person, you will need a form filled out by him authorizing you to get it on your own, along with a POA.

otherwise, he needs to be with you to enter you into DEERS and get your ID card.

why are you not asking the military about this?
Surely it concerns them?
Its unbelievable the amount of questions that are posted here from people who are in the military, married to the military.
How did you find out before Yahoo Answers was created??
