Chances are you will be receiving half of it up front and the other half over the term of your contract. ie. $10,000 up front and then $2,500 x 4yrs.

You won't get crap until you finish your training. That includes boot camp and AIT. When you arrive at your permanent duty station, it will take four days or so to in-process. Part of that in-processing is going through finance where they will begin the footwork on getting your first installment of your bonus which you should get at least half and then the rest will be divided up based on how many years you have left on your contract. However, it will be taxed at 28%. Carry a copy of your contract with you. The Army takes a little while to pay lump sums of money. If you have a good MOS, your chain of command will take care of you when you get to permanent party. Don't be bugging your Drill Sargents about your bonus in boot camp. You will get smoked and have to do shower room PT.

you will get it at the end of all your training when you check into your first duty station. it will NOT be automatic, you have to go to Finance and request it.
It will be taxed at 25% right off the top, and you might only get half of it up front and the rest dispersed over the length of your enlistment in yearly payments.

Re-enlistment bonus?
Or sign-on bonus? If you are new to the Army, either that is part of your college money (you get $40,000), or your recruiters are REALLY messing with you!
Or, you missed a decimal place in there...
