Is it true that sane people do not run for politics?

Seems to only be power hungry idiots.

I think there's a few good (and sane) ones - who truly have unselfish motivations and honestly want to do good things for the American people. But those few either get attacked and dragged through the mud by the professional politicians, or else they are eventually corrupted by greed and power.
