What comes to mind is "violation of federal immigration laws and regulations".
That's the definition of the phrase -- someone who has violated federal immigration laws.

People who have crossed our borders illegally, and people who have overstayed their legal visas or residency.
They are most likely criminals if they crossed illegally and they are most likely working at non-legitimate jobs if they stayed here illegally past their visa or residency time. A small few have real excuses like they were brought here by their parents as babies or children. And a small few have real excuses like working legitimate jobs that did not pay well, then they did not have the money to file all forms needed to stay. The solution should have been help for the ones that are really working with visas so that they could pay their fees, etc. Then amnesty for only people just turning 18 who were forced to come here with their parents.
There are no other excuses for the criminal aliens.

People who think that they are above our laws and that the American population owes them something. Illegal alien comes to my mind and I'm tired of supporting these disrespectful invaders. I have no bad feeling toward legal immigrants just the illegal aliens.

People who have not gone through the legal documentation to gain and maintain lawful (by the immigration laws of the host country) residence in a modern nation state under a lawful government as recognized by the UN are considered illegal immigrants.

Well, typically I view people that don't have the proper credentials to be in this nation.
If we are trying to do the entire "prove them racist" thing - Yes, I think of hispanics when I hear the term "illegal immigration". Why? Well, beings as they account for over 90 % of those in this nation illegally, then it is only natural. When one thinks of a serial killer, they typically picture a white man. That is because typically a serial killer IS a white man. It is only human nature.
What I picture makes no difference. What is the difference is doing things legally or not. If you don't come here legally, then you should not be allowed to remain here, and you should be deported. End of story.

I always think of Mexicans because that's what I mostly see. Illegal Mexicans work in the back of most of the stores I go to. That's who I also see when the media talks about illegal immigrants. I've read that 40% of illegal immigrants come from Latin America so I don't understand why the media only talks about Mexicans.

There is a VERY big difference between the immigrant and the illegal immigrant.
When I think of immigrants, I congratulate them for coming into the US legally.
When I think of the illegal immigrants, I think of it as a selfish act.

I think of those who come here illegally with no respect for our laws but yet want our help. Also, I think of those who don't go through the legal process but yet demand they receive what the legal citizens have.

I know there are millions of illegal immigrant from every country here.....but the media only shows Hispanic faces when talking about this subject.

An illegal immigrant is a person who has entered the country without official authorization. It doesn't matter what race,creed,or color they are..

You asked for an answer, so here goes from a White person -- the Orientals that pay their way here and take over our country and the countries of Europe as well. I personally think they should stay in Asia as the racists they are -- they hate White people and think we are ugly and there for the taking.
They're not as smart as you think -- they just study hard and are great at copying because of the sneaks that they are. If they're so smart, how come they need to steal everything from us -- oh, I forgot -- they are just "tourists," right?
