I get the biggest laugh, it's a disgusted laugh, but it's a laugh nonetheless, at these idiots and conspiracy theorists who keep claiming Obama is a Muslim. I'm not even an Obama supporter, but these fools are pathetically funny.

What do they think he's going to do? Once in office he'll declare Jihad on the United States and the Congress will just fall down, worship him and tear up the Constitution? Will he hold a news conference and say "Hey you guys guess what I'm really a Muslim and you're all screwed?" Or will he just quietly work to let terrorists in the country, because of course we all know that Presidents don't have to answer to anyone, and Homeland Security wouldn't even notice.

I know, it's not even a serious question, but don't you find them a pathetic bunch? The people who claim this crap are a Coke short of a Happy Meal.

Mr Thompson seems mighty quick to adopt the "I don't remember" defense which has become a faithful stand-by of Republican flip-floppers. But the facts are that he took money to try to convince lawmakers to relax the abortion gag-rule at family planning clinics which accepted federal money.

Now, I admire him for that effort, but why won't "Mr. Integrity" stand by what he did?

Should animals have rights (which are legal or moral entitlements) if they do not behave morally themselves?

You look at the damage the Bush Administration is done and the scalding smear tactics against used by some very hypocritical right wingers.

Then you look at the self-parodying American Right calling anyone anti wat and non-reactionary as "hateful".

Dontb these people have anything better to do?
And why such searing animostity from Christians who cannot follow the golden rule?

Its hypocrisy but I thought I ask anyway.

I say we drop a nuclear bomb on one of the terrorist training camps on the Iraq/Pakistan border. Then we issue a notice, "We will drop one nuclear bomb for every car bomb that goes off in Iraq". Most importantly, we actually do it. Even terrorists would have to get tired of nukes going off in their country. Our soldiers will be out of there in six weeks.

Commentators made much ado over his comment yesterday about wanting to be liked but having to do the right thing, even when it is unpopular. Havng lost the battle of popular opinion, it sounds like he is holding on to the idea that he will be a martyr to the cause. What do you think?

...... :
Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done.
And I am Caesar. --(Julius Caesar)

We pay Social Security so we can get a retirement and etc. How come the government can dip into it without penalty. Shouldn't it be locked for what it's supposed to be used for only? The government is going after businesses why are they able to do the same thing others are getting punished for?

I'm 17 years old, just one year shy of being legally responsible. I used to live in Florida, with my mother and the rest of my family. When I was 10 years old my dad went to Brazil to start a business, and never came back. Last year (2006) I went to live with him for a year. I didnt like it too much so I decided to return to the U.S.A.
So I went back in April of this year, and stayed one month. My father told me to return and gather my things (clothes, belongings, etc) and that I would only stay 2 weeks and be on my way to my new life. Well here I am. I've been here in Brazil for more than 2 months and my father says he wont let me leave untill my 18th birthday. Can he do this?
I read the UN's Child Rights Convention, and Brazil is part of it. But I'm a bit confused. Whether I am young or old, I am still a human being. I should have rights too.
Please help me out.
-Kevin

This attempt to subvert choice in America will be the first of many if these snakes are elected.
And is the fact that a FOX news microphone happened to catch them saying this the reason libs think FOX is somehow unfair? Is that because the rest of the media, what they think is unbiased, would not report this?

I read biographies about Reagan, and it stated Reagan considered Franklin Delano Roosevelt one of the greatest Presidents ever, and Reagan was originally a Democrat and voted for Roosevelt every time he could. Apparently, Reagan eventually left the Democrat Party because he believed it was being hijacked by communists, so he joined the Republican Party.
