Mr Thompson seems mighty quick to adopt the "I don't remember" defense which has become a faithful stand-by of Republican flip-floppers. But the facts are that he took money to try to convince lawmakers to relax the abortion gag-rule at family planning clinics which accepted federal money.

Now, I admire him for that effort, but why won't "Mr. Integrity" stand by what he did?

It's far from the worst thing a republican has forgotten. It's just amazing that he has pulled out this response so soon. People are just starting to dig into this guy's background. Who knows what else they will find!

OK booman, so Mr Integrity Thompson can be a darling of social conservatives because of his staunch anti-abortion stance, but if he can make money by trying to gut anti-abortion legislation, that's okay with you.

I doubt it charity...Obama is not telling the truth about his heritage and Hillary is a socialist bent on the presidency telling lies left and right and contradicting herself constantly and all the liberals out there don't see it...I doubt if it will matter much if Fred Thompson has changed his views from his younger days. Most people eventually grow up...some like Hillary stay the way they are.

Not at all, when you are an attourney, arguing a clients case is your job, not your stance on an issue. It is a moot point. And he has said as much. If a trial lawyer defends a client accused of murder, does that mean he supports murder? NO.
