Yes, I do feel the same way.
Unfortunately, in the broad spectrum, neither party is truly out to make this country better. Instead they are all acting in ways to make their own party better, even if it hurts the country in the long run.

Liberals (Democrats) tend to focus on what's not working so well. They'll blame society's problems on the disparity between the rich and the poor. This will be viewed an an injustice. Then they will seek to fix things by punishing the rich and rewarding the poor.
Conservatives (Republicans) tend to focus on the strengths of the country. They'll credit our standard of living on free market enterprise and individual responsibility. Then they will try to improve things by supporting business and people taking responsibility for themselves.
Democrats tend to see government as benevolent. Republicans see government as inefficient.
Democrats see the government as playing a major role in the environment.
Republicans see free enterprise as the best governor of the environment.
Democrats think that individuals are not capable or responsible enough to properly care for themselves.
Republicans think that the government is neither capable nor wise enough to make the decisions for individuals.
In the end both have some points, however, there are scoundrels in both parties. You have to end up voting for the person and not the political party.

I'm a Republican and I vote mostly for Republicans, most of the Democrats that I do actually like these days are local level ones who are doing a good enough job for me to not even care what their political party is.

Yes, exactly the same way. Which means we will never have a candidate that feels about things like we do. I still like that better than following like sheep the party lines.

I think the difference is the politicians. The only reason I chose a party is because of the people in the party.

Yes the Dems are corrupt, and the Republicans and corrupt, they both tend to spend a whole lot. The difference is that with the Republicans America will survive, with the Democrats we will crush our own economy with socialist policies and weaken ourselves to the point where Mexico could invade us.

There are no pure Democrats or pure Republicans. There are liberals and there are conservatives. Not all Democrats are liberals. Of the Republican politicians now in office, none are conservative, most are Democrat-lite, and some are liberal.

half dozen of one and six of the other. Neither party truly represents the American public or gives a flip about the welfare of the working middle class. The rich get richer here, and the welfare folk just get more front porch time while those government checks keep rolling in.
