I say we drop a nuclear bomb on one of the terrorist training camps on the Iraq/Pakistan border. Then we issue a notice, "We will drop one nuclear bomb for every car bomb that goes off in Iraq". Most importantly, we actually do it. Even terrorists would have to get tired of nukes going off in their country. Our soldiers will be out of there in six weeks.

That sounds a lot like a demand. Terrorists make demands.

I do not know much, but I know that Iraq and Pakistan have NO borders! “Education” is the key word here, check a map you know picture with the countries displayed in different colors, no offence, but that is utter ignorance, I know that much!

As for the nuking part, again radioactive effect radiuses, do you want the allays of the United States to be wiped form the face of the earth as well? Clearly you should know that even Israel is only a country away from Iraq, a very small country away! “Think” – another key word - I only pray that you never run for presidency.. Like EVER!

I hate to break this to you, but there is no Iraq/Pakistan border. The terrorist training camps are in Pakistan, near it's border with Afganistan.

Though you're obviously poorly informed, the basic idea you're espousing - establishing a deterent by responding to terrorist attacks with overwhelming retaliatory strikes - may actually be sound. Of course, there are issues with using nukes for those strikes. Especially against a nuclear-armed nominal 'ally' like Pakistan.

Have you ever considered the half life of nuclear waste. Doesn't go away in your or your kids or their kids or their kids life time. Lets not show our stupidity with stupid questions, such as this. This is an answer site not a stupid site. We are still gaging the nuclear fallout of Iwo Jima. And it wasn't nearly as potent as the nuclear weapons of today. Go back to school and learn Chemistry before you ask dumb questions. Because evidently you have no clue.
Now I know why we get what we get in the white house and Congress, because if you are a voter, the only thing you do is walk in close your eyes and start punching,

I don't think it would work. The big gainer would be Iran.
And we don't want our soldiers out of their in six weeks.
That's an open invitation for Iran to walk right in and sit right down and daddy let the terrorist times roll.

On a more practical level, Russia is still dealing with the fallout from Chernobyl. I don't think the Middle East needs to have to deal with that on our account.

Back to the soldiers, what we need is a lot of Civilian companies help to get Iraq up and running as a stable economic entity--we need that even more than the political, because it would provide incentive for the politicians to keep Iraq moderate. We have to win the peace for Iraq before we abandon her and come home.

We are too good at starting things and not finishing them.
When we went in everyone was all gung ho patriotic. I was not happy we went in. But now we are in we should stick the course.

We too often encourage people to fight and then leave them to their fate when it stops suiting our perceived needs. Shame on us as a country when we do that.
We stepped up. Let's complete the task---the whole task.

Retarded.

First of all, nukes are not precision weapons. 10's of thousands (if not 100's of thusands) of people would die and most would not be terrorists. Lets not forget that the majority of the population of ANY country are NOT idealogues, terrorists, or even give a crap about world events. They are just like you. They want to scrape out a living and raise a family. So if you are fine with blowing up kids and humble families, its a great idea. But what does that make you???

Amongst other things, I think its called a "terrorist".

Congrats!

What is it about people who feel the US can do anything they want with no repercussions? You know while sit there in your little corner of the world, reading online only the things that agree with your own little reality, there is a huge globe out there with billions of people, thousands of cultures that dont see life in the same way you do. Ive got news for you, the US isnt invincible, we are not insulated economically from the rest of the world, we depend on imports of oil and oyther needs from many foriegn countries. We cant just demand the rest do something and then they do it.

The terrorists would f'ing love it.

They would be setting off car bombs left and right - and laughing as we nuke half the planet (not to mention our oil supply) into a giant pile of radiation. (Killing off and sickening thousands of our own soldiers, as well as hundreds of thousands of civilians with the radiation cloud).

You have to remember terrorist tactics bank on their enemies over-reacting in an attempt to get revenge - which gaurantees that the terrorists will get sympathy and recruits.

Now, as soon as you are ready to wake up and face reality - we can talk.

I'd say it would be much easier and MUCH MUCH cheaper, just to give isreal a 20 mile wide strip on the American-mexico border, to move their entire country to.
then they can provide us with the service of keeping illegal immigrants out for all the tax dollars we give them. But then again, we would probably end up with Texan terrorists to protect them from.

If that where to happen, all the terrorists would lose purpose, be completely confused, and resort to drinking their lives away since it is now void of purpose.

wouldnt work. this is 4th generation warfare. it doesnt end like WWII with a bomb or two unfortunatly. its about a war going on since bible times really. its about whos right and wrong. its about an idea--not land, not who has titles over something else. its a hatred. and the thing that sucks the most is that those terrorist groups have no regards for other muslims living in iraq.....they hide out and dress like civilians in villages---thats how women, children, and innocent men end up being killed. and they have no regards to their own lives---its an honor for them to die in war. it wont ever end to be honest. one leader brought down, and another will rise.

i wish we could just take them out....... but its not so simple as that....
