I ask this because some cons point to a growing economy and say this is proof tax cuts (mostly for the rich) work.

That is nonsense.

Every president since atleast FDR stepped out of office with an economy bigger then the one he stepped into. However, if you were to compare the percent increase in real GDP, inflation adjusted median wages, inflation adjusted tax revenues, jobs created, poverty rates, etc, etc, you would see largely see Keynesian Democrats beat supply side Republicans any day.

I know that Yahoo has purged Answers of left-wing opinion - I was the victim of censorship myself. But it's fascinating that there are so many ardent pro-war posters when America is now unified against Bush's war crime. Aren't you people aware of what goes on in the real world?

Is it to protect military and strategic secrets from our enemy?

Is it to protect the Bush Administration from accountability?

You knew it was coming, every time the White House gets a batch of bad news for the administration it's time to announce a terrorist threat: this time for the ENTIRE summer. Does anyone believe these liars anymore?

"We used to have John Ashscroft's major announcements. We used to have David Paulison's breathless advisories about how to use duct tape against radiation attacks. We used to have Tom Ridge's color-coded threat levels. Now we have Michael Chertoff's gut," began Keith Olbermann in a scathing 'Special Comment' on MSNBC's Countdown.

"That we really have been reduced to listening to see if [Chertoff's] gut will growl, that [his] intestines are our best defense," mocked Olbermann. "All hail the prophetic gut!"

One of the greatest fallacies about the so called 'Cuban Revolution' has to do with healthcare

Foreigners who visit Cuba, are fed the official line from Castro's propaganda machine: "All Cubans are now able to receive excellent healthcare, which is also free." But the truth is very different. Castro has built excellent health facilities for the use of foreigners, who pay with hard currency for those services. Cubans who require medical attention must go to other hospitals, that lack the most minimum requirements needed to take care of their patients.

These facilities are filthy and patients have to bring their own towels, bed sheets, pillows, or they would have to lay down on dirty bare mattresses stained with blood and other body fluids.

This latest Moore propaganda film is no different than his last one, Fahrenheit 9-11, which ignored the brutal dictator and showed Iraqi kids in the park flying kites and enjoying rides at a carnival.

That is, why do you think the reasoning is for posting here, when clearly they aren't looking for answers, just to piss off the liberals who have already had enough of Bush's bullsh--. (Show me ANY proof of Bin Laden in Iraq, or ANYWHERE in the law there is mention of executive privilege (made up by the Bush administration) and I'll eat my words. And no, Ann Coulter isn't a reliable source; rather she's an insane, evil *****.)

I won't be in the military for about 4 years, as i'll be going through rotc in college.

However, I heard that alot of military men stationed in korea marry the girls over there and bring them back because some of those girls will save up like 3-5 thousand dollars and pay the military men the money to marry them and bring them back with them.

If this is true, i would definately put in a request to be stationed over in korea and try to find the highest paying girl there to marry me and bring her back. Does that sort of thing still go on?

Also, do most of those girls just want to become us citizens, or do some of them actually stay with the man they marry once they get into the US as a citizen?

Anyone know what the most i could stand to make on that is?

Some people admit he freed the slaves, but still call him a racist. The fact is Lincoln's view on slavery EVOLVED. It evolved from merely hate for slavery to support for full equal rights for black people throughout the land.

NOW FOR SOME FACTS: (PAY ATTENTION TO THE DATES)

LINCOLN HAD ALWAYS HATED SLAVERY
"I have always hated slavery, I think as much as any Abolitionist. I have been an Old Line Whig. I have always hated it, but I have always been quiet about it until this new era of the introduction of the Nebraska Bill began."

It is time to elect the world leader, and your vote counts. Here are the facts about the three leading candidates:
Which of these candidates would be your choice?

Candidate A associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologists. He's had two mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.

Candidate B was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college and drinks a quart of whisky every evening.

Candidate C is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and hasn't had any extramarital affairs.

(If you've heard this one before, then SHHHH...)

If today's Republican Party still represents the Party of Lincoln and northeastern yankees, why won't they denounce the confederate flag like Democrats?

Instead of denouncing it, they claim "state-rights". Since when was the Republican Party the "state-rights" party?

-------------------------

"Political considerations color the divergent views of presidential candidates on whether the Confederate flag should be moved from the State House grounds.

For Republicans competing in the Feb. 2, 2008, GOP primary, where white voters will hold sway, the flag is a state issue that the candidates are not eager to discuss.

On the Democratic side, where half or more of the voters in the Jan. 29, 2008, primary will be black residents, candidates have no qualms about calling for the flag's removal.

'Each side is playing to its basic constituency,' said Blease Graham, a political science professor at USC."
