Well to be honest we've never done anniversary gifts but soldiers always like pictures to remind them what they have waiting at home and things to remind them of home. For my husband's birthday I took pictures of our family to a place in our mall and had them put the pictures on a pillowcase so he could sleep with us, you could do the same thing with pictures of you two together maybe even wedding pictures and such to remind him of your love for him.

When my dad was deployed (never during their anniversary however) mom always got dolled up and had me take some photos around the house, haha especially of the new things she bought or whatever it was we changed in the house. Perhaps buy something he has wanted for quite a while (if finances allow it) and take a picture of it telling him it's at home waiting for him. Also, check around your area for a scrapbooking store and see if someone there can help you make a card or small pocket sized 'scrapbook' he can carry with him while he's over there.
Good luck :)

When I was deployed I always enjoyed letters that smelled good (my wife would spray her perfume on them and since the desert smelled like sweaty dudes and camel poo, that really made my day), playing cards, and beef jerky. There's usually a favorite snack that you can't get locally, so find out what it is and send that. If you were thinking bigger, then set something up for when he gets home. Not right when he gets home, but after he's gotten settled back in.

First please accept my gratitude for the great sacrifice you and your husband make for us every day. Bless you both. If I were your husband I would want a good quality photo of you and a long heartfelt letter where you say all the stuff that you guys feel but usually do not say. Nothing means more to a deployed soldier than knowing things are still the same back home and you are waiting for him.

When hubby was deployed during our 10th yr anniversary I took some pics of myself over the years from the day we met to the birth of our children and me in my uniform and made it into a music video (adding our song) ... I wanted him to know what he had waiting for him at home (not that he didnt already know).
Send him a box of love ..

I'm in the military, but not in Iraq, but if I were your hubby, I would want something personal to know you are always on his mind. A reminder of why the he's there and what he has to come home too.

Been there..done that. Send him a big box of all his favorite things. Maybe even a couple CD's and new movies. Even though he can go to the PX and get it he will love it that you sent it. Send a t-shirt or panties with your perfume on them. He can put it in his pillow case and smell you when he sleeps.

I definately might elect the 2d if it have been me. My fiance's wedding ceremony band is likewise titanium, he wanted something untraditional that became into nevertheless magnificent, it has tribal stuff around the band.
