(I know I just asked this, but i screw up writing the additional details, so i'm re-asking w/ said details...)
O.k. so about 2 weeks ago, my moms boyfriend, threatened that he was going to attack me, because my mother left him (and now went back...) I know most of the time he's all talk, but he does have a past record of assault and various other things. Now that she's back with this guy, a few family members told me I should get a restraining order (they also mentioned this notarized paper of some sort?) , and so, I was wondering if anyone out there that has a legal background could help me out, and sortta tell me If I can actually get something to keep him away from me, because He does have anger issues and he would actually harm me if he got angry enough. I just wanna make sure I can (legally) protect myself from him.

my father along with me and family, went to Iran.
My father worked in Embassy.
there We Bought a car, Daewoo Racer.
When we were coming back to our country, my father made deal to sell our car to an Iranian.
Half of the Payment was made to us by that Iranian...
When the other half was to be paid, to us, my father died unfortunately...
The Iranian buyer took away the car & never paid for our car...
Now I and My family are in financial crisis & we tried to take followup from our embassy in Iran, they say that the guy has sold our car to other man, & he in turn also has sold our car to someone else...
I wanted to ask how can I get my car back or the rest of the pament o our car???
the selling deal was made in 2001 & since then our embassy never replied to us seriously.
What can we do now????

I am on the far Left on most issues. I marched against the invasion of Iraq and continue to do so; however, I just hear Obama, and he totally turns me off, his cold demeanor involving Iran, his statements regarding Wellstone, etc.

Our money is a "fiat " currency (look it up if need be) and has no inherent worth. Our income tax is illegal (visit truthmove.org for details) and we get no services only payment on interest for the trillion dollar plus vacuum a year. Wouldn't the country be better off with real currency and a lawful taxing system? We were fine without the FR all along prior to 1913. Dr. Ben Bernake (the current chairman) has admitted that the FR caused the depression and is the cause for inflation. Economsists assure us that the current system will lead to a collapse--it's mathematically inevitable. Shouldn't we change now? If you are not familiar with the specifics, go to youtube.com and search for "Freedom to Fascism by Aaron Russo" then watch it before commenting. I hope all Americans get the message here and weigh in on this issue.

Should we as citizens of this Constitutional Republic, if unable to get our "representatives" in Congress to vote as we want them to, take the next step and push for our individual states to start proceedings to secede from the government until such time the Federal Government conforms to the enforcement of the Constitution?

I work in a pet food retail store, I am the ONLY female associate, and I work with about 10 other guys.
The guys and I are always joking around.. making sexual pet-food related jokes-- "that sure is a lot of beef you're holding", etc.
It's funny.
Today, one of the male associates took me aside and said to me "So when are you going to let me hit that". I was offended and I told the manager. The manager started yelling at the other guy about it instead of keeping it professional and talking about it calmly.
Even though we always joke, what he said to me was not a joke-- it went too far.
Now everyone is mad at me.
Since I'm the only female there, and since i'm able to "joke with the guys", according to the other associate i'm just "asking for it".
I quit my job tonight.
Did I do the right thing?? Do you think that since i'm able to joke, that i'm "asking" to be sexually harassed??
*sigh*... comfort me.

My fiance is in Yongsan, Korea as a military police for the Army. We want to get married when I go over. What kind of visa do I need to apply for if we're not exactly married yet and how do I get a passport? How is Korea like? Is the housing expensive and what kind of job can I get over there. Also i was wondering, would it be easier if I just apply for a tourist visa, then get married and reapply for an A-3 visa (military dependent). Which way would be best?

My nephew applied for a passport 13 weeks ago. They (the post office in the small town in Wisconsin) told him that it would take 10 weeks maximum. Also - the government website states that it will take a maximum of 10 weeks to get a passport. He wanted to pay for the two week "express passport" - but the P.O. advised him not to do that and assured him he'd have the passport in time for his trip which was 13 weeks away.
After 10 weeks - the passport hadn't come. He called (and waited on hold for hours each time - not an exaggeration) and was given the run around. Finally they told him he could go to Chicago 3 days - before his trip to get the passport made. He called again when it was three days away to confirm that info - and was told there were no appointments until June 17th (two weeks after he needed to leave). He had to change the ticket. It cost him $100.00 - and a bunch of time and effort.
What's up with this branch of the government that they can't get things done?

I mean I don't know a whole lot about it other than the fact it seemed really mean... people are still dying from the after effects of the radiation wasn't it some other solution that they could have come to? what would have happened if they didn't drop the bomb and is it a possibility that somebody could drop a bomb on us?

Would the world feel safer or more at risk if China were to take over the USA as the worlds No. 1 power? Given that right now China is far more favored across the globe than the USA and has strong relationships with other great powers such as the EU, Russia and Japan which the US constantly pisses off.
