Should we as citizens of this Constitutional Republic, if unable to get our "representatives" in Congress to vote as we want them to, take the next step and push for our individual states to start proceedings to secede from the government until such time the Federal Government conforms to the enforcement of the Constitution?

Thanks for all your answers and personal emails that have been received due to my post.

I have looked at the Libertarian party, and am not interested for a couple reasons, primarily that of their stance on abortion. Libertarians are in general Conservative in values, but have several liberal leanings I am not comfortable with.

I belong to the Constitution Party, have actually held a number of high level posts in the NC and KY state affiliates, and have run under the Independent Banner on the Constitution Party platform, first as a City Councilman and then as a State Senator, both in NC.

Presently I am just a regular member of the party, and also a member of the John Birch Society, of which I am serving as the North Central KY Section Coordinator.

Most recently, I have begun work on a new organization, Citizens of the Republic, a group that will work to support candidates of any party that meet Constitution adherence in their voting, or take down those that don't.

Well you are right that both parties and politicians in general are not representing their constituents.
I think we all need to be active and vocal and assertive and vote out the offenders ( which is most of them )
I think its time we replace the good ole boy system of self serving politicians and get some fresh blood in there and keep replacing the ones who dont represent us.
That is part of this divisive system. Politicians puposely divide citizens.

Most people are happy with the way their Represenatives and Senators vote.

They are just unhappy with the way the other district and states congressmen and senators vote.

The far left thinks they won the 2006 congressional midterm elections.

But reality is, that the majority of the new Democratic Representatives and Senators are moderate to conservative.

Thats what is driving Pelosi crazy.

She is having a hard time explaining it to the far left, that the far left didn't win control in 2006.

The moderate and conservative Democrats won control, and they don't have the same agenda that the far left has.

Not such an extreme question, actually. I know some states have, in the past, threatened to do just that.
However, our country is in such disrepair right now, it would be extremely dangerous to do anything that radical. As "genius " wrote, it would indeed "divide" our country, even further than it is already!
Our administration and lapdog-members of congress have seen to dividing us sufficiently. Now, we need to come together as a country, more than ever (in my lifetime of experience).

NO.

1. USA would be weaker military and economically divided.
2. Divided states would turn on each other.
3. The voters are to blame for BOTH Parties.

The only way to preserve freedom is to support a 3rd party NOT controlled by corruporations.

The American public could EASILY end this problem by voting for Representative Ron Paul for our president & supporting our Libertarian party. Too many Americans have been sucked into & manipulated by the politicians(magicians!) of the democrat republican party. The Libertarian party is 100% constitutional & adheres to our founding fathers vision of individual freedoms. Avoid the "magicians" of the republocrat party & vote for real representation!

Tragically, when a candidate starts talking about the Constitution, they are labeled a "moonbat" by the religious right.
As a citizen our power is in the vote. We have to collectively forget about the neocon warmongering and paternalism of our foreign policy and get back to basics (and I don't mean religious). Talk to your representatives, and tell them to shape up.

we have been sold for 30 pieces of mexican silver. Amexico here we freaking come. Call your senators and congressmen and tell them you will never contribute one more dime, and you will never vote for their party again. RNC coffers are empty.
