Well I havent looked at teh military pay schedule in quite some time lets see if i can find a current list.

ahhh here you go an E-3 in the Army who is new ( no years of service yet ) starts at 1534.20 cents per month.
That is just your basic pay, there are housing and travel allowances as well as education pay benefits and various other things.
And you get a raise to 1630 dollars a month after 2 years.

As far as taxes well that will depend on your deductions you take.
But a rough estimate would be that you would keep about 1150-1200 dollars per month.

taxes will depend on your state of Residence and whether ort not there is an income tax, and how much it is. But you will of course have Federal taxes taken out.

as for how much you bring home , that will depend on whether you sign up for the GI Bill, Thrift Savings Plan and any other allotmonts or allowances you may be entitled to.

Well since the military gets tons of tax breaks and ur basic pay is goin to be $1400 a month the govt. will take out next to nothing since most of the traditional outakes don't apply to the military.

That sounds about right. My husband was an E4 and his checks were about $2000 (bring home) per month.

It depends on your pay grade going in, and whether or not you are married. My husband is making more than that, but only because he is married...

Join Halliburton they rob the tax payer 10 times as much as the Military. You'll be rich if you come out alive. Good luck.
