Have any of you read Lee Iacocca's new book, "Where Have all the Leaders Gone?" Intelligent, informed opinions, please, about the book.... please, spare me the uninformed drivel about Chrysler's $7million bail out, it's ancient history. Thank you!

I am furious at the shame the current administration has brought to the party. No other conservitive administration has given the world the idea that we are a bunch of idiots, like this one. What happened? Most of the conservitive people I know will not lift their little finger to defend Bush. Of course, there a some who will, but they just seem to be sticking with the team, with no apparent desire to re-establish credibility within the party.
I don't believe the democats are structured with honor either.
What the hell is wrong with us?

How does a person pay their personal debt while they are in jail? What happens to unsecured debt? I understand that a house would be foreclosed on, that a car would be repossessed, but what happens to other debt? Is the family responsible for paying it?

Freedom of religion is a guarantee by a government for freedom of belief for individuals and freedom of worship for individuals and groups. It is generally recognized to also include the freedom not to follow any religion (irreligion) and not to believe in any god (atheism or agnosticism). Religious toleration is the condition of accepting or permitting others' religious beliefs and practices which disagree with one's own. Freedom of religion is considered by many in Western nations to be a fundamental human right.[1]

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_religion

If a religion preaches hate or has laws that do not conform to what western society considers a religion, should it be considered to be a cult?

For example, a religion that:
1) does not tolerate homosexuals
2) forces conversions to its beliefs or imposes death
3) openly says it is OK to kill children of another religion or belief
4) treats women as 2nd class citizens or property

Etc.

Is this what the fighting is all about? Or do you prefer the other way, our God is Conservative nature and Allah is Liberal nature? Any way we need to decide which it is so all the troops can come home.

WASHINGTON - President Bush, under growing political pressure, agreed Thursday to negotiate with Congress on a war-spending bill that sets benchmarks for progress in Iraq.

The turnabout in Bush's position came as Republicans expressed anxieties about the war and the House was expected to pass legislation that would cut off funding for U.S. troops as early as July.

Does it depend on how long you've been in the millitary before you get benefits
He has to go to the dentist to get his teeth fix.
he claims that millitary would not pay for it.
He's been there for about 5 years
He even gets a VA check.
So shouldn't he see a dentist on base
Wouldn't the millitary give him a percentage to pay regardless of how long he was in the millitary

I've got one big issue I think both sides are wack about, and another where I agree with the cons, but for most issues I'm liberal. What's that one liberal stance you take despite being a conservative, or vice versa--what's the one thing you are conservative about despite being liberal on other issues?

And which issues do neither side have a clue about?

I called Licensing on a day care provider due to a provider leaving home and leaving a strange man with my children. I removed my kids that day from her care. Two weeks later there was a claim filed that I did not feed my children and did not bath them. No truth in it at all! Case manager came out and said that she understand that this is a false claim and will close the file after viewing my home and my children. I am so angry that someone did this to me and the fact that I have a file opened with DCFS for this makes me irate! I am a very good mother and the fact that someone leaves my children with a stranger and I call licensing regarding that should not mean that I should have a child neglect claim against me! What recourse do I have against this woman???? Please help. She can't get away with this and I feel for anyone else that places their child in her care and pisses her off! DFCS will be at their door too!

They drag their children across the desert in high temps walking for several hours and many times they use coyotes to help them which they know to be dangerous people. I think they should be convicted of child abuse. Opinions?

I mean, yes they can be taken out, but isn't that taking your constitutional rights away. It's a type of freedom. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness...etc. You can't tell someone that is gay they cant be gay if they want to work here. And don't say, well you can't just stop being gay. because if i pay damned money to get my lip pierced, i shouldnt have to take it out because someone doesnt like the way it looks. That is disciminatory and is just as bad as not hiring someone that looks different.

does that mean that the 1st Amendment freedom of the press is also outdated and should apply only to the print media, or that the freedom of speech should only apply to actual speech and not the internet? Or perhaps that the 4th Amendment protection from search and seizure should only apply to your physical domicile and possessions, not your electronic and wire communications?

Bush seeks compromise on Iraq benchmarks:

Bush's willingness to put benchmarks in a war-funding bill represented a shift by the president.

"One message I have heard from people of both parties is that benchmarks make sense and I agree," Bush said. He said his chief of staff, Joshua Bolten, would talk with congressional leaders "to find common ground" on benchmarks.

A physician whom I was a patient of, began sexually harrassing me for the duration of our doctor/patient relationship. I then started to bring my husband with me once I felt this harrassement was getting out of control. A few months later, I fired the physician from treating me. He is a specialist and it is difficult to find a good specialist in this particular field, which is why I put up with it as long as I did (about 7 months). What is the first step I need to take, and will I be taken seriously, since I waited 6 months after firing him, to file a lawsuit?
