No, he is not a Muslim. Read his book. He went to a public school in indonesia where there were both muslim and christian pupils and teachers. His mother was an atheist and his father was a muslim but he was pretty secular. He wouldn't marry an atheist if he was a devout conservative muslim. I wish people would think about that before they make Obama out to be muslim. He goes to UCC Congregational church in Chicago. It's a kind of denomination that does not prosylatize or believe that you have to come to God based on a huge conversion like evangelicals believe. It's very down to earth, non-dramatic and practical in it's approach to faith. I go to UCC Congregational Church in Los Angeles. And, again, he wouldn't do this if he were Muslim because he would be considered an infidel and a heretic in the muslim faith if he did. Again people need to think before they say that he is covering up his Muslim-ness!

I've got to say I'm a little mystified at your question, mostly because it is common knowledge that the man is a Christian. He went to both Catholic and Muslim schools in Jakarta from the ages of 6 to 10. They were the only decent schools available there.
Anyway, in his own words from his book Audacity of Hope:
"I was not raised in a religious household. My maternal grandparents, who hailed from Kansas, had been steeped in Baptist and Methodist teachings as children, but religious faith never really took root in their hearts. My mother's own experiences as a bookish, sensitive child growing up in small towns in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas only reinforced this inherited skepticism. [...] My father was almost entirely absent from my childhood, having been divorced from my mother when I was 2 years old; in any event, although my father had been raised a Muslim, by the time he met my mother he was a confirmed atheist, thinking religion to be so much superstition.
It was because of these newfound understandings–that religious commitment did not require me to suspend critical thinking, disengage from the battle for economic and social justice, or otherwise retreat from the world that I knew and loved–that I was finally able to walk down the aisle of Trinity United Church of Christ one day and be baptized. It came about as a choice and not an epiphany; the questions I had did not magically disappear. But kneeling beneath that cross on the South Side of Chicago, I felt God's spirit beckoning me. I submitted myself to His will, and dedicated myself to discovering His truth."
You will of course see people accuse him of being Muslim and ask stupid questions like "Is Barack HUSSEIN Obama qualified to be President." I guess they think he's got some grand plan to become President and then usurp the government with his Muslim "pals." I had trouble even typing that with a straight face. I don't support Obama for President, I don't think he is experienced or politically savvy enough to take that high office. But he isn't a Muslim, and has never been one, that's crystal clear.

No.
But I agree, would it really matter to you? Or would his views and political ideaology be more important to you than his beliefs as to which imaginary God is real and which imaginary God is not?
