I don't know where most of ya'll are from. Obviously I am from TX. San Antonio, TX to be exact. I am also a 4th Generation Mexican American. First of all...are you asking why don't all illegal Mexicans in American go to the southern states or are you asking why don't they migrate to other southern Latin countries?
I'll answer both. Why should they have to migrate to only the south states. TX and all the other southern states are inundated with Mexicans and if they can get as far as Michigan, more power to them. They are working the jobs that Americans don't want to.
For the second part, the reason illegal Mexicans don't migrate to the southern Latin countries is because those are even poorer or just as poor as Mexico. They want to better their life not keep it the same or worse.

Because there are no men or a cultural bent to make their lot better in their own country.
Latin America has huge undeveloped resources. Eastern European countries when freed or close to it post cold war rallied in the streets and achieved democracy....... even while having so much less natural resources than latin america.
So what is different? Why does Mexico allow illegal immigation into the US? If Mexico wanted to be a real player on the world stage they could..... they could secure our border. But they won't as that would seem that they are pandering to the US. Changing all of it would require real men in latin america to stand up and make a change..... not protesting in america.
However you cut it there is no political or cultural will and examples in history show this. It is always easier to suck off a neighboring country. Where is the one Latin American who makes the difference? There is not one.

They believe America is the land of opportunity. Besides, people can get away with practically anything in the US, such as breaking the laws by illegally crossing the border.

Because they would get picked on by the natives of those countries. You should see the imitations they do of Mexicans in Panama on TV.There are however,many successful Mexican restaurant owners there also.

The Mexican economy needs them to stay up here. I forget how many billions of US dollars these people send home, but it is in the billions. I am very aware that life is rough down there, but when I have to absorb the cost of their medical expenses and pay for their prison time while they send money south, I begin to get more callous. I realize they are here to stay, I just want them to support themselves, I'm tired of doing it.

Mexico has even worse immigration laws.
Their officers beat / rape / murder / mug, men, woman, kids. but of course that's never said on the news.
Free money? only to Cubans, as soon as they step land, they get social security, and money to start a business.
The rest have to work for minimum wage or even less, some 10-14 hours for 8 hours pay.
Free Healthcare? Immigrants are afraid of going to the emergency room, the first thing asked for is identification or some sort of payment.
Look in Hispanic communities, they are full of clinics where all immigrants go and pay out of their pockets. $25-$50 a consultation plus medicine, all in all they spend $100-$150 and they are back to normal.
Actually go into an Emergency room, you'll see nothing but old people, and people complaining that they have a cold.
Go into a Welfare office, you'll see nothing but Whites and Blacks in there.
People need to step out of their houses and into the real life before they talk. I have lived in many different types of communities and have seen the same thing.
Hispanics blamed for everything, while the rest who are here legal are abusing the system.

Ironically, Mexico has issues with people illegally immigrating there from the southern border in search of jobs!

Because their only option is Guatemala which is worse than Mexico. Guatemalans sneak into Mexico, because they will do the work even the poor Mexicans won't do.
