WASHINGTON - President Bush, under growing political pressure, agreed Thursday to negotiate with Congress on a war-spending bill that sets benchmarks for progress in Iraq.

The turnabout in Bush's position came as Republicans expressed anxieties about the war and the House was expected to pass legislation that would cut off funding for U.S. troops as early as July.

bbriggs has consistently used sedition in his posts. He's chosen sides in WWIII. So have many of us. OUR President, President Bush, has been wiser than the whole of the media combined. While the media share his low ratings as if he's stupid for having them, they reveal what they truly value: popularity and power.
He didn't plant WMDs in Iraq, though it would have made him more popular;
He hasn't done many of the things that would have made him popular.

Do you want a candidate that goes after "popular"? Is this what the socialist and/or seditious elements of our society prize? Is it true that a President isn't wise unless he agrees with someone like bbriggs?

Silly the power trips these posters get on. Unwise to publisize it so much though.

How do you figure Dems 1? The President stated a long time(before the Democrat congress) ago that he would never support a timetable and would only support a withdrawal plan that included benchmarks along the way. Sounds like he is getting what he wanted in the first place isn't he?

Shouldn't you be in class right now anyway?
