I am a American soldier. I go to work every day. I make no decisions that effect our foreign policy. I spend months upon months in countries away from my home and my baby boys. I don't hate Iraq, I don't hate Iran. When I look at my country I see only the others around me who sacrifice their time, their lives........I live paycheck to paycheck, I recycle(most of the time)and I'm nice to my neighbors. Does the world see my uniform as the face of our Executive Branch? As a soldier I will continue to do whatever I am told, I will hand my 2 month old twin boys over to my wife as I leave for Iraq again. I have stood in the sands of Iraq, there is a definite evil that encompases their land, but as with ours the problem lies with the powerful few. Do you hate me? I serve for my children, I serve for my old high school, I serve for my Grandfather who fought a real enemy on the shore of Normandy. I am confused. Do you hate me?

I could see why.

1.They both helped the poor.

2.Both did not care about money and wealth.

3.Both were ridiculed and dispised when they actually helped people.

Thank you for seeing the light on this matter. But what are some more ways that they are alike?

I just read an answer to a question "What presidental candidate scares you the most?" (or something like that) and some guy said that any of the republicans who believe in evolution scare him.

My question, I can understand how things like abortion and gay marriage could be important to people. But how is someone believing in evolution disqualify them for the Presidency? I mean, really, what does it matter? Nobodys going to make a law saying that everyone has to believe in evolution, so why is this even an issue?

Seems like our country is leaning farther and farther to the right, taking more of it's direction from the church than our elected leaders. We forsake our freedoms for security. We discourage or defund medical and scientific research because it conflicts with our interpretation of the Bible. What gives?

Think about it. Jesus Christ was the Messiah but he was shunned as a heretic. Plato and philosophers at that time were thought as crazy, but there principles set the basis of a true commonwealth. He rightly realized that the federal government was corrupt, and had the courage to act on it. Though he did kill innocent people, he stood up to the government.

Dean called Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius around 5am one morning after the tornado destroyed Greensburg, Kansas and discussed with her what to say about the tornado and how to blame the war in Iraq and the Bush administration on a slow response to the aftermath.
Gov. Sebelius, called Senator Sam Brownback on his cell phone and confessed to him that she had been instructed by her party leadership on how to politicize the tornado's destruction of Greensburg and attack the White House and the Iraq war for a seemingly slow response. She reassured the Senator that her allegations didn't blame him or Pat Roberts, also a Kansas Senator, for the lack of immediate response. That explains her public statements to the press that proved later to be untrue. This all turns out to be false and the governor herself has back tracked on her own claims. Sound familiar? Katrina 2.0 Will Dems keep exploiting deaths in Iraq & tragedies at home, for power actually come up with a real plan 4 the US?

I don't understand why everyone thinks they are middle class. I remember watching an interview with a politician (name escapes me at this time) and they were on the issue of middle class. He then goes on to say he is middle class and the middle class income is $250,000 a year. Do most politicians consider themselves middle class??

To me the poor families can be defined by not making enough money to pay off all the bills with one job. cant afford nice place.

The lower income families make just enough to barely pay the bills, food and bare necessities. cant afford nice place

Lower middle class make enough money to pay the bills, food and have some spare change left over to buy a cd. can barely afford one step up from the ghetto

Middle class makes enough money to pay the bills, food and have enough money left over for some new clothes (at a cheap store most likely) have a car payment. Decent roof over their head (depending on location) but not very fancy.

How do you define classes
