Yes and no, there are some I thumbs down regardless and do not even read their answers, it does not matter about politics perse, I do not tolerate socialist useful idiots and hate bushers especially the ones that post 30 times a day with the same message.

There are many others who are on the other side of the debate and I always read their thoughtful or sometimes funny answers.

For instance Muse and I do not always agree but I always read his questions and answers and he does give me pause for thought, of course he can articulate intelligently across a wide range of issues. There are others as well.

RLP - I always give you thumbs up, your wit and humor is really funny, and I love how you get some peoples goat.

I honestly try to take the high road and actually read the answers. Sometimes I have been surprised. However, I don't like people who spew hatred or are just disgusting for the shock value. Then I feel like I have wasted my time . I got to admit some people are very tempting to thumbs down because of other answers, but I don't like to give them the attention they so desperately seek.

No, in fact I often don't agree with you, Son of George Bush or Comrade Olbermann but I've given you thumbs up because you're funny or your point is well made or both. I imagine there are people on both the left and right who will automatically give a thumbs down to people they don't agree with or don't like. But then, people like RLP bring that on themselves.

I'm more concerned about why we have become so polarized in this country. There is so much rage and bigotry on this site. The democrats against the republicans, the right vs. the left. I've never seen so much animosity.

I only give someone a thumbs down if I think their answer meets the above criteria. Instead of aiming ourselves at each other's throats, we need to pull together for the good of our country and our planet.

I only give people thumbs down if their answer is nothing more than a personal attack and in no way benefits the questions by being there. Although if the original question was nothing more than a flame attack I usually just ignore everything in it.

I don't give a thumbs down to anyone who actually attempts to justify their opinion with facts and logic.

If they misstate or distort facts or just outright lie, I will give them a thumbs down.

The only people I "automatically" give a thumbs down to are people who cut and paste long-winded wikipedia articles as a response.

I give thumbs up and occasionally stars to questions that make valid points and/or arguments, regardless of politics. Thumbs down go to people who cast insults without backing up their opinion.

I have given your alter-ego both...
