Someone told me that when asked about his lack of experience to be president, Obama made this remark, stating that until he was appointed senator, he had, "just been chillin' out," or something to that effect. Who is this guy?

There are different kinds of violence: racial violence, domestic violence, violence against women, and political violence, to name a few. Give me your taxonomy of violence. How would you organize the various types into meaningful and relevant categories?

This is a poll-type question -- I don't need "the correct" way of categorizing violence, I just want to collect opinions to see how people are thinking.

in countries such as USA, Aus and GB they have remembrance days and veterans, Anzac days to remember war dead and service.

in germany do they celebrate the brave sacrafices of young brave german and japanese soldiers in ww2.

although they had terrible govermnents the soldiers fought very well against heavy numbers and nearly pulled off an unwinnable war. through hardwork and sacrafice.

or do events such as the holocaust cause too much guilt in there countries

Four Oaks in Independence Iowa is reponsible for numerous infractions of childrens rights and safety and as a former employee and mandatory reporter I notified the Deparment of Human Services but nothing substantial came of it except a mock investigation, entirely because Four Oaks is the lowest bidder and money comes before child safety for the government sometimes. Four Oaks is informed before there are so called random inspections, I known because they would have us clean up a day in advance. I've done all I can, people need to repond, and not just to this question.

I get really p*ssed off when corporations have 'huge tax breaks' and 'record profits'.
With 'record profits', do they need 'huge tax breaks'?
I think not. Who is fooling who?

Seriously people, you better rethink your positions on illegal immigrants.

First of all, our economy is HOPELESSLY DEPENDANT on their labor. Who else is going to pick fruit, work in restaurants, and do all the jobs no one else is doing? That's not a racist statement, it's reality.

Second, illegals aren't stealing jobs from anyone. Like I said before, no one else would do those jobs for those wages.

Third, are some of you just closet racists?

The repressive Hussein regime has been topled. We thought that was the beginning of the end of the war.

How wrong we were. With the insurgents bombing away at people and places, it seams the war is far from over.

What has to happen or not happen and for how long before Pres. Bush or the new President can detrmine to pull out the soldiers?

It appears to me, that there is no threshold that can be defined that would be suitable to determine when the war is truely over.

No matter how many peace treaties are signed, there can/will always be a group that is not satisfied with the treaty and more blood will be shed.

I have never heard this question asked. Perhaps it was asked but I am not aware of it.

So, would any one like to share their insights as to how we know when to pull the troops out of what appears to be an endless conflic?

last Nov, the Dems said they would do something about high gas prices. Now, they're blaming it on a failed Bush administration.
I don''t understand this? When they said they'd do something did I make a mistake and assume that they''d do something that worked???

If abortion is going to be made illegal at some point in the future, there should also be a law that holds men equally accountable. This seems especially appropriate when you realize that the abortion laws are being changed by men.

Any male who does not use contraception and an unwanted pregnancy occurs, that male should spend nine months in jail. Following the birth of this child, this male will be legally responsible for a portion of the child's living expenses through a court-determined date, payable to the adoptive parents or institution responsible for the child.

When you consider that most sexual contact is initiated by men (don't men complain about that all the time?) then it seems they would also want to carry part of the burden.

I own my house and rent out the rooms to friends on the verbal agreement that they will pay me rent every month and pay for anything they break or destroy, also that they give me timly notice when they want to move out. My roommate just gave me 2 hours notice that he was leaving and that he was not going to pay to fix anything or pay any rent for the month. I want to take him to small claims court for the damage and the rent do I have a case?

My mother got married years ago to this american citizen who was a very nice person a first. He petitioned me and my mother in order for us to stay in the u.s.

Unfortunately, My immigrant status is just a temporary status for the first 2 years. It has this condition that my mom should remain married to my stepfather so that we can remove that restriction after 2 years.

My stepfather is very abusive and we couldnt take it any longer so they decided to get divorce.

The problem is, Me and my mom needs to get that condition removed but they are already seperated (not divorced). My stepfather is needed in this interview that is scheduled next week.

If my stepfather wont show up anymore and they are really gonna get divorced.. Are we gonna be deported for the u.s?

Military News:.. U.S. casualties will rise in next 90 days, Commander says.
The U.S. military announced the deaths of 11 U.S. soldiers killed in combat along with an embedded journalist Sunday, and Iraqi officials said 163 civilians were killed or injured across the country all in one day. It appears the United States is losing ground and the Iraqi officials and Military officials are worried. This could end up like another Vietnam. Iraqi officials state they need 200,000 more American troops to win this war.
