Seriously people, you better rethink your positions on illegal immigrants.

First of all, our economy is HOPELESSLY DEPENDANT on their labor. Who else is going to pick fruit, work in restaurants, and do all the jobs no one else is doing? That's not a racist statement, it's reality.

Second, illegals aren't stealing jobs from anyone. Like I said before, no one else would do those jobs for those wages.

Third, are some of you just closet racists?

If some group of people sneaked into your house and took up residence, would you consider yourself a “hater” or “racist” for wanting them to leave? As an American citizen, this country is MY house.

I love how everyone always focuses on these "jobs Americans don't want" Although you made my point for me,they are doing jobs Americans won't do,"for those wages" Exactly the point, the only reason they have the upper hand on much of the employment is because they will accept a radically lower standard of living, thus can accept a radically lower wage. The competition from illegal aliens has effectively destroyed the wages for those working in many construction trades for example,or at least for those who need a higher wage in order to pay the taxes illegals aren't paying. But why is a sub contractor going to pay one guy $13 an hour when he can pay some other guy $8 an hour, and who cares if the reason that the one guy can work for $8 an hour is because he lives in a home with ten other people and pays no taxes?

And go ahead feel free to just throw the race card out there whenever you feel like supporting law breakers.

Hate is a strong word, but it is out there. For legal citizens it is frustrating when there are people who are here working living and using services with out contributing to the system.

The problem is that workers come into the country illegally and they do not pay any income tax, property tax and they in most cases send most of the money they make back home either in Mexico, Centeral America, South Pacific or where ever.

The truth is if you are here and working as an illegal immigrant you are stealing from the communities in wihich you live. With out paying taxes (sales taxes excluded) you are not helping the State to build roads, pay for education, keep the State in which you live a safe place, ETC. However the roads, schools and health care are used freely with out much thought or major cost. It is not fair to those who are here, or have leagal status.

There is "hate" as you call it because no one likes to support someone else when we pay taxes and many use the services we help provide with out any contribution.

It is a known fact that the number 2 export from the United States to Mexico is MONEY.

You figure it out. Someone works at a job that supposedly no one else wants, but they do not contribute to the local economy. Not fair. That is why there is a back lash.

If you love the United States... get legal status and pay your fair share. I have no problem with that one bit.

It's not that they're immigrants. It's not where they're from. It's not the color of their skin. It's not their job performance. It's that they're ILLEGAL.

I also wouldn't say no one else would do those jobs. Someone would do those jobs, just not for pennies a day. With ILLEGALS working for those wages it pushes down the wage potential of LEGAL residents of the United States. Also, these people use our roads, they use our health system, their children use our schools, they don't pay taxes, but the LEGAL people in the USA have to pay taxes to pick up the bill for them being here ILLEGALLY.

There are legal means for entering the USA. Immigrants have been doing it for over 200+ years. Maybe the ILLEGALS should look into leagal means to work and live here. I very much resent being labeled racist when really I just want people to follow the law.

Because maybe, just maybe, you should be legally here? This economy isnt hopelessly dependent on illegals. There is no job that an american will not take. Granted it's going to take some higher prices and lowered egos to do it, as well as more of a bizatch slap from the wellfare system, but the job would get done. When you save 88 cents on your apples, you spend $88 to pay for their hospital and school expenses. Secondly, we need to stop being a nation of holier-than-thous. You can't start at the top, but nobody told our generation that. Thirdly, the welfare system needs to stop babying people. If you want government money, you need to work at shittacular jobs to convince you to go out and get a real job.

The wages that you're talking about are illegal, since they aren't at least minimum wage, aren't reported to the government, and no taxes are paid to them.
I resent being called a racist, I have cousins that are half black, my children are part Ponca Indian, and my neice is half (illegal) Mexican. I love all of them.
My problem with the illegal aliens have absolutely nothing to do with the jobs they do anyway. My problem has to do with the fact that they are here ILLEGALLY. Hence, the title "illegal aliens." If the first thing you do is break the laws of this country, then continue to break the laws of this country by either working off the books, or stealing a social security number (which screws up other legal American's social security), then what right do you have to suddenly decide you want to be here legally? You have already shown that you have absolutely no regard for the laws of this land, therefore, I do not want you here, I don't care if you're Mexican, Iranian, African, or British.

You are arguing from a starting point of The Benefits of Having Illegal Immigrants in a country, any country!
I strongly suggest you start from a platform of LEGAL Presence and Residence in a country, any country!
If I broke into your house or home and told you I mean no harm, and I can do your house chores and run erands for you for a couple of bucks a day, IS THIS OKAY WITH YOU?
If so, then I can't fault you for your support for illegal immmigrants.
However, if you are not...then I will have to say that you are not a very rational person. I can even conclude you are a racist and greedy person who wants to lord it over other less fortunate people(the illegal immigrants) because you are, in effect, bringing SLAVERY back to your country! Shame on you!
You gotta change that attitude Man!

I asked a similar question in immigration and holy cow did I get blasted. From what I gathered though it was the fact they were ILLEGAL.Most said if they were LEGAL they would have no problem with them.Of course the racists came in too but for the most part they weren't being racist.I can understand the ones, 3/4, that just said illegal was what bothered them. The racist ones I'll never understand no matter how I try.

I think you are right that the ecomomy is hopelessly dependant on the current labor system...it might also be wise to concede that our economy is also on its way to degenerating because of the huge amount of money spent to care for public services rendered to illegal immigrants...I don't believe in the hard line of pushing all immigrants out, but there is a crisis arising that should not be ignored...I wish I had a better answer but I am not blind enough to not see the problem and I am too much a humanitarian to suggest the types of ideas that would eradicate the problem.

I think you're right that most of the hate is from racists, whether they be "open" or "closet" as you put them.

I personally have a problem with illegal immigrants because they have circumvented the established rules for entering our country, plain and simple. I don't care so much about where they're from as much as their method of entry. the fact that they are here illegally means that they will earn wages under the table (because they have no option), and therefore screw up the tax base, and affect the economy negatively in that fashion. Many send that money home to their families in other countries and that further hurts our economy, as it will never be taxed, again hurting my bottom line.

Those who say they're stealing our jobs are ignorant. No, we don't want to do these jobs for the wages they do, but tax their income just like mine, please. Part of coming here is paying your fair share of the cost to live in a free and open society.

The only reason they're paid those wages is BECAUSE they're illegal immigrants.
Our country would be in much more control if citizens worked those jobs, even if we did get paid the same, rather than aliens that came here illegally.
Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with those who came here legally, as most of us are, which proves we're not racist toward them. But to work these jobs AFTER coming here illegally, well that doesn't make up for it.
They can go back out, then come in LEGALLY, and I'd respect them just the same as I'd respect any other citizen.
