Americans do support our troops, and most Americans feel now that the government is betraying our troops and the best way to support them is to bring them home now. An increasing number of people are realizing we've been conned; that we, and our troops, and the Iraqis, are paying dearly for it; and that the only people profiting from the invasion and occupation of Iraq are a few multimillion-dollar companies, and a lot of terrorists.

Sorry. no rely the form you cube it or slice it, Bush remains a moron. The ethnic tensions in Iraq have been there for a protracted time. it somewhat is between the justifications that the British took see you later to pull in another u . s . a . (40 years); they knew that in the event that they did pull out with out having some sort of stable government in place, the rustic could disintegrate and you may get what you have now. Bush and his neocon chickenhawk pals might have expected this result had they only bothered to envision some history books or maybe only talked to the British. No sane person could ought to make the middle East much extra volatile. Even an evil little guy like Bush needs stability over there, if for no different reason than to confirm a delicate furnish of oil.

slowly but surely people are seeing that it's a no win situation. the u.s got F'd in the A. No wmd's, Iraq was actually in better shape with Hussein. Bush jump the gun with improper in-tell. Spain and England got attacked for association, so that made the war and in turn the u.s look bad.
Valiant soldiers sadly risking their lives all for not. in a way this kind of justifies future attacks against u.s. & it will be used as reason by terrorist orgs.
Theres' also the money factor, all that money spent with little progess all the while the issues within should have been top priority
And also the american public is figuring out that we all been had by one man's personal agenda and it's gonna take a lot of time, money, effort, and sacrifice to get back on track

the obvious notwithstanding (i.e. dying) it is that war like all since and including Vietnam have simply become an extension of foreign policy. Not a cause. Also the billions upon billions of $ it cost daily to run this war. One that should have never been. We caused this war. That is to say...we put Saddam in power...we gave him chemical weapons. now that it's worsened this administration seeks to wag the dog.
we should have simply assassinated Saddam and his people instead of waging war and killing innocents. "Just Cause"? I think not, and people still wonder why the the so many hate the US. The big problem in this country is apathy.Be it voter or otherwise. if you don't vote, you get what don't you ask for. Up with term limitations! Down with incumbency! Semper Fi
source? A life lived with my eyes open, and make NO mistake. This war is NOT about religion. It is about political dominance

I think Americans expect a quick solution to everything. There is no patience. Also, I believe that there was opposition to the war in the first place, but they started getting louder after it was found there weren't WMD's in Iraq, and as the death/wounded toll adds up.

It's a war we don't know who the hell is killing our soldiers. It's a war we are wasting dollars and weapons and not knowing for sure if we're feeding our enemies with them. After all, so many Iraqis have fled from Iraq, so who's left to benefit from what's left in Iraq?
Iraq's now left with Iraqis killing one another for the oil wealth. And our soldiers are being used by those looking to benefit from their dreams of getting a stake from it. As our Troops get more and more exhausted with many more returning in coffins or mentally imbalanced, America would be left with dried-out troops to guard the nation the next time, God forbid, it shoukd be attacked. We can't clean up the mess in Louisiana, think we can clean up the mess, should one of our border states or nuclear plant should be attacked????
Let Iraqis do their own fighting. If America's Middle Eastern allies are afraid of Iraq falling into wrong hands, they should themselves lift up their fat butts and do something to make sure Iraq will never prompt any problem for them. Saving our Troops from being thrown into iraq as scapegoats and shooting targets for Iraqis is not a cut and run issue. It's time our Troops say "No" to those oil greed junkies who are plainly wasting off their lives. A nation fighting a real war is not one that sends soldiers into strange and foreign territories, without proper training, lack of solid intelligence, lack of knowledge of the enemies' language and cultures, and so badly protected.
When 50% of our wounded soldiers return with mental health problems, it's sure sign that our Soldiers are being thrown into the battlefields without praise-worthy intelligent work. organized by those high in command. They are being sent out to take a gamble on their own lives.
By the way, those Repug presidential candidates, like McCain, make my stomach churn! They even dare talk about a war with Iran when we can't even clean up our borders, Louisiana, or Iraq! Or even stop their own peers from promoting and using the DC Madame's lucrative prostitution and Escort Services!

Originally we were pissed off from 9/11 and wanted to kick the stuffing out of someone. The President (a trusted position of power for most) said- "this guy is the head of a nation that might be helping terrorists, lets get him," so we all jumped on boad (well 7 out of 10 of us did).
As information started coming out about what was really happening we realized this wasn't a 100% true, and we started seeing the Iraqi people not care for us, we were losing people for what was felt as reasons not worth doing.
Now its a matter of- 'if we pull out now then we insult those that have died and if we stay its down to insulting those that will die.' (By insulting I mean that its about telling them their lives were not worth the freedom of those people, because nothing will have been accomplished.)
We need to- tell the people of Iraq- "we are leaving. We can't win this, you people do not want us here, because the vast majority of you are anti American. We would love to help you, bring you medical systems, education, freedom, open religion, and such, but none of you care, so... Good Bye."
Then close our boarders to all Iraq people, and let none into the US- ever again.

Yea, well what are your sources.
It is costing a mint and we have seen body bags coming home daily for over 4 years. And they are going up! 11 today!
I suspect many don't see it as much to do with "terror" and more to do with corporate welfare! They also know, that if they make between $100,000 and $200,000 they are going to get slammed in taxes for Bush's misadventure's!
It is a backlash aimed at Bush! And he still doesn't get it. He thinks everyone is stupid. At least when they used to steal it wasn't done right in front of your face!

I really have no clue why we are in Iraq. I thought it was for WMDs but supposedly there is none. I just need a reason so I just accept it and move on. Some say it's oil; let's not be naive...countries invade other countries mainly for the reason of resource or expansion, I would pick resource, but golly gee that would be horrible.

Probably because they are told how horrible it is by the press corps every day. If people are told something is true often enough then they start to believe it.
The press seldom reports good or uplifting stories about what is happening there and almost never reports successes. There are uplifting things happening there and there are successes but, more then likely, we'll never hear about them.
