I had a problem with a neighbor and noise and they never do anything. THEN everyone is surprised when there is a story on the news that " an argument escalated to gunfire..." If they would just show up when called, it would never get that far.

doesn't that make us a Terrorist state, and shouldn't the State department quote us as part of the 'axis of evil'? or are the Bush administration too embarrassed to use that description any more?

I really cannot tolerate liberals. What is the solution to this problem? They irriate me to no end because they make NO SENSE! They are idealist, tree hugging, hippies with no sense of reality. They are detrimental to our nation. What can be done to convert them to the conservative side?

Which country in present time would be more important to go to war with? I think we need to finish the job in Iraq and in Afghanistan. But which Country (any) is more of a threat to the U.S. and why do you think it is a threat. I support our troops. And am also a Vet. I love fighting in any conflict. Thats why Im going back. This reflects very badly on their ability to defend the born again, neo-conservatism that their leader espouses....

Come on Bushcos, show that you CAN defend the indefensible.

Which is a more plausible solution to the human condition - Liberty (which I would consider the freedom of individual choice, which implies an awareness and acceptance of consequence) or Government (which I would consider representative decisions that provide regulations regarding how individuals make their choices)

Here's a scenerio (feel free if you aren't into law, to put in an opinion:

At our high school we are given slips of paper to sign that say "By signing this, you agree to ride the bus for the field trip and you waive all liability to the school in case of an accident." My parents would always add "as long as the driver is not at fault". So let's say that my parents sign one of those forms and the driver gets in an accident where he was at fault and I was injured. Would I be able to sue the school or would the waiver of liability still apply?

Collecting agency filed a law suit again my mom for medical bill. However, the amount is not correct. Do I need to send some kind of proof and negotiate with them at the court?

She cannot work, and my dad was in a car accident few months ago. He will not able to work certain period time while getting a treatment. So, Even if collecting agency could get a judgment against my parents, they don’t have any personal property or money to pay them. I’m a college student and taking off a year for making a living.

I have contacted the collecting agency, and they want a certain down payment about 4000, and then I could set up a monthly payment. But we can’t afford that kind of money for down payment right now. It is really hard to pay our rent. I could only afford about 150 each month. We really really want to make a payment.
Or Can I make a payment plan with hospital now?
What should I do?

Thank you.

If we anti-war people marched on Washington D.C. naked, maybe the pro-war people would be so horrified that they would pull out of Iraq. I got the idea from the naked protest in Mexico. So what do you think ? March naked or not ?
A story from the protest in Mexico can be seen here in a story from MSNBC :

Among men of ordinary stature, he would be the equivalent of a "superpower"

He could abuse that power but he chose not to do so.

He hated to see anyone in pain so he wasn't the least bit cruel.

He had an abiding sense of justice so he would readily intervene if he saw someone being mistreated.

He was described as "slow to anger" and "quick to forgive"

Even children instinctively love a gentle giant once they are assured of his gentleness. They are soon all over him like they would be on an amusement ride.

Might and fairness make a safe and welcome combination.

The success of the television series BONANZA was largely due to the powerful yet warmly sensitive and humane character of Hoss Cartwright.

Wouldn't our success as a "superpower" be assured if we choose to emulate the same basic attributes inherent in the character of Eric "Hoss" Cartwright?

A few days ago I was home for about two hrs in the course of that time some kid took and sketched about 10 drawing into the paint with a rock.
I filed a police report and talked to my insurance lady (at the time not knowing who did it) and in order for me to fix it I would have to pay my $500 deductible. But tonight when i came home the girl was out there getting ready to do again, and admitted she did it. So we called the cops and reported it and was basically told I am SOL since she was under 10...which is bull why wasnt the parents watching her at all. But I dont want to tell my insurance company i found out who did it, cause I am afraid then they wont cover it. But then again i was thinking maybe the renters insurance would...does anybody know anything about it?
the cops only suggestion was taking the parents to small claim court. which i am having surgery next week and dont really have the time nor the enery to fight it... any suggestion would help thanks

I'm writing a short paper for my sociology class on this topic. Focusing on one reason for each--alcohol is legal because the government is profiting off of it and marijuana is illegal because of the assumption that marijuana use leads to harder drug use. I don't necessarily have to support these statements, but I do have to prove them. Any input on this?
