I don't see a contradiction at all. It sounds like there are two kinds of angels, bearing two kinds of messages... not just one. True angels bearing a true gospel. These angels would be messengers who are honest in their intent, bringing a message from God Himself, with the intent to bring light and knowledge to bring the recipient closer to God. False angels bearing a twisted version of the truth.. or possibly even an outright lie. These messengers operate in disguise. They're sent by/from Satan, mascarading as messengers from God, with the intent to deceive the recipient, and lead him/her to Hell. The problem is that many people have latched onto that passage in Galatians, and somehow haven't noticed the passage in John's revelation. They (ministers, members of their congregations, etc) have decided that Galatians applies to Moroni, but haven't quite thought through the possibility that whether it's Moroni or some other angel... somewhere through history, some time after John was on Patmos, there must be an angel (a true one, as defined above) to bring the true gospel from God to man. I think that Moroni is the best (only?) candidate we have to date... Anyone have any other suggestions as to the fulfilling of the passage in Revelation? In other words, if Revelation isn't talking about Moroni, then who IS it talking about?? *crickets* Anyone?
