the madman that did it?
They blame guns and the relatively easy access to them. They blame society. In time, they will get around to blaming the Bush Administration and its policies.
But rarely do you hear them blame the individual who pulled the trigger. Why is that?

For example, let's say someone gave someone some money with the intention of it being a bribe without saying that it is. Then, the other person happened to just give a favor to the first person because he "wants to help." Then is it still considered bribing (because you are just giving, like a gift or something)? After all, it's not illegal to give a gift or to help, so what is the line between that and bribing?

I can see that some people have shamelessly taken the opportunity of a tragedy to push their vile anti-2nd Amendment agenda

It's times like these I am thankful that we have the NRA and other worthy civil rights organizations to defend our rights.

I just sent the NRA a $100 check to help protect against the impending attacks on our liberty.

I see lots of answerers to gun related questions saying that if guns are banned evil people will kill people by other means. Like what? Knives? Poisin? Bombs? Fists?

This is an unrealistic view in my opinion because of the cost or expertise needed to kill people with these. And why do most killers use guns? Don't you think it's because they're cheap and readily available and kill efficiently from a distance?

Like banning assault type weapons? Like renewing the restriction on handgun clip size? Like requiring owner-specific trigger locks?

Each time a mass homicide like the one at VT is committed, US incurs a loss of literally MILLIONS in productivity and other costs. Isn't it time that we stepped up and held those responsible for the easy availability/ownership of assault weapons and handguns for bearing part of this cost, at least via the increased cost of safety restraints on the guns themselves?

The U.S. has had a long string of the kinds of rampages we saw yesterday in Virginia. The following represent only a selection of the school shootings over the last decade or so.

Oct. 3, 2006
Nickel Mines, Pa. - 10 dead, plus shooter.

Aug. 24, 2006
Essex, Vt. - 3 dead

March 21, 2005
Red Lake, Minn. - 10 dead

Sept. 24, 2003
Cold Spring, Minn. - 2 dead

March 5, 2001
Santee, Calif. - 2 killed, 13 wounded.

April 20, 1999
Littleton, Colo. - 14 students, 1 teach died. 23 wounded.

May 21, 1998
Springfield, Ore. - 2 killed, 22 wounded.

March 24, 1998
Jonesboro, Ark. - 5 killed.

Oct. 1, 1997
Pearl, Miss. - 2 killed, 7 wounded.

Feb. 19, 1997
Bethel, Alaska 2 killed, 2 wounded.

Feb. 2, 1996
Moses Lake, Wash. 3 killed, 1 wounded.

These kinds of shootings also happen in Europe, Canada, South America, Scandanavia and other modern countries... but only very rarely. In the U.S. these shootings happen with regularity. And not just in schools!

What has created this distinction in the U.S.?

Shouldn't guns be made to order for people who have followed the proper procedures?

This way, there are no "extra" guns to sell to criminals and only the good citzens have them.

Don't you realize that Hitler banned guns and then proceeded to use the military to round everyone up and either execute them or send them to a concentration camp?

But..but..you libs say Bush is like Hitler? So, therefore, if any of you libs studied history, you would be DEATHLY AFRAID of "neocon" Bush taking away your guns.

Silly libs. Don't you realize how silly you look?

By this I mean the all the lovely ex pats who live in countries like Spain and are proud not to speak a word of spanish. You know the ones that open British theme pubs and serve british food. Or maybe Britain should have taken on the countries cultures of that they took over during the time of the british empire, instead of just getting them to join the British Army

Perhaps now its a bit hypocritical of us to expect any person from other countries who emigrate to us to follow our culture instead of their own. I mean we even complain if they speak english with a foriegn accent, but then you turn the tv on to Marbella Belles on a Tuesday night and see a woman who is proud, after living in Spain for 5 years, only being able to speak two words in Spanish. And mis pronounce them.
