I see lots of answerers to gun related questions saying that if guns are banned evil people will kill people by other means. Like what? Knives? Poisin? Bombs? Fists?

This is an unrealistic view in my opinion because of the cost or expertise needed to kill people with these. And why do most killers use guns? Don't you think it's because they're cheap and readily available and kill efficiently from a distance?

Do you realize that VT was not the worst US school mass murder? The worst was done with explosives, in fact if you look worldwide explosives are the preferred weapon for those bent on killing lots of people. Did you know that if the Columbine bombs had gone off, over half the people in the school would have died that day?

Bombs can be made cheaper, out of items a lot more available than guns

Jack the ripper strangled them then slit their throats... guns are just an efficient tool.. take away the tool and deranged people still do deranged things.. a gallon of gas and a match takes no expertise.... and how to make a bomb is easy to look up online.. the deranged will always find a way.. we should focus on finding these individuals and getting them help before they flip out.. and also we should focus on what it is in our society that is causing so many people to loose touch with reality.. because the reality of it is that our tools for killing are just going to become more efficient as time moves on.

You are absolutely right. People bent on killing people use guns. Guns are the easiest way to kill people.

But, so what?

The real question is, why do people kill people? Look, murder has been around from the beginning, all the back to the thrid and fourth human beings in existence, if you believe the Bible.

You cannot stop people from killing people. High school students have been experimenting with pipe bombs. Timothye McVeigh did not use a gun and he killed more people than Cho.

Getting rid of guns will not solve the problem.

Cost and Expertise? Any idiot can torch a building. You can make napalm from Gasoline and Jello, not exactly a budget breaker. I can show you how to make Ricin or mustard gas in about one hour and the cost is less than 100 dollars. So your argument doesn't hold water. A bomb can be made easily with the internet and about 50 dollars. Take away guns and people will kill anyway.

Bullets are a lot cheaper than arrows and you don't have to re-use them.

Because the government justifies killing people, other people think it is okay to kill. That is the root of the problem.

There is no reasoning with these paranoid people. They think gun control advocates are after them and not just trying to find a solution to a big problem in the United States.

I don't remember guns being used on 9/11 (or the Oklahoma City bombing). Had pilots been armed, perhaps 9/11 wouldn't have been so devastating.

Don't we have laws against murder? So if someone is ready willing and able to break that law what makes you think they will abide by a law that will take away a gun?

People are killed from bee stings. Ban 'em! F**k the honey! And I like bugs too.
