Must mean Fox is doing something that CNN isn't. I don't watch either so I cannot say what that would be.

Nice, you answered your own question. That means you've made up your mind and anything we say won't matter. FOX is anything but fair and balanced, CNN is. CNN is not really liberal or conservative (except for Lou Dobbs, whom I might add is critical of all politicians, not just Republicans). I assume you got that statistic from FOX, and I wonder when you last watched CNN.

There are substantial differences in the knowledge levels of the audiences for different news outlets. However, there is no clear connection between news formats and what audiences know. Well-informed audiences come from cable (Daily Show/Colbert Report, O'Reilly Factor), the internet (especially major newspaper websites), broadcast TV (NewsHour with Jim Lehrer) and radio (NPR, Rush Limbaugh's program). The less informed audiences also frequent a mix of formats: broadcast television (network morning news shows, local news), cable (Fox News Channel), and the internet (online blogs where people discuss news events).
Fox News ranked 15th out of 16 when viewers were polled about general political knowledge.
Think about it.
That's something you can still do, right?

Fox News is just as unbalanced as CNN. It's all about ratings. Popularity ratings don't prove anything. Bush was more popular than Kerry in the 2004 election, but I daresay that Kerry would have made a better president.

because liberals watch more than one news source.. including fox.. to get a more complete view of events... so you have the same people watching CNN that then flip over to Fox.. you should try it sometime.. and while you are at it.. try some foreign news sources... you might just learn something.

You're assuming that people tune in thinking they're getting news. I tune in for the entertainment and for knowing what the latest right wing distortion of the facts will be...

Because the people that listen to FOX get their information from one source only. The people that want the truth, get their information from numerous sources. In doing so , it keeps any one source from getting huge ratings.
