Don't you realize that Hitler banned guns and then proceeded to use the military to round everyone up and either execute them or send them to a concentration camp?

But..but..you libs say Bush is like Hitler? So, therefore, if any of you libs studied history, you would be DEATHLY AFRAID of "neocon" Bush taking away your guns.

Silly libs. Don't you realize how silly you look?

"Germans who wish to use firearms should join the SS or the SA - ordinary citizens don't need guns, as their having guns doesn't serve the State." - Heinrich Himmler

Yeah, Bush and Hitler are not alike. That's intellectual dishonesty and historical ignorance.

People pull out the Hitler card whenever they're demonizing an opponent. Why? 'Cause everyone knows Hitler was evil. He's our most famous evil historical villain. So, if I hate Bush and I can get you to agree that Bush is like Hitler, then you'll have to hate Bush, too. Problem is that he's not like Hitler. Hitler was a fascist; Bush is an American classical liberal, often referred to as a conservative. They don't have the same philosophies--hell, their philosophies aren't even close! Hitler hated classical liberalism--and their policies aren't all that similar, either. He was a national socialist, a totalitarian queen. He wasn't right-wing. He was just a totalitarian. He supported control in every area of your life, not just one. That isn't right-wing. That's t-o-t-a-l-i-t-a-r-i-a-n. As much as some people may hate Bush, he's just not a fascist. He's more of a pansy moderate than anything else. And if starting a war no matter what the reason is grounds for being a fascist, then what leader isn't a fascist, man? Bush has authoritarian policies obviously, and that's why I didn't vote for him, but he's no Hitler. That's just a WEAK argument.

Most people who try to equate Bush with Hitler do so by comparing strategy, not actual actions. For example, there are parallels between the Patriot Act and policy Hitler used to secure power. That doesn't mean Bush is trying to secure power the way Hitler did. Besides, very few actually try to draw real or accurate comparisons between Bush and Hitler. There are only a few actual comparisons and they could probably be drawn to any leader.

The hazards of trying to fit all liberals into a neat little box: 1. I don't think Bush is like Hitler, I think he's much worse (dumber and much more powerful). 2. I don't think guns should be banned. I don't think they're the problem. If I could wave a magic wand I'd have people reproduce less and consume less. I'm thinking 99% of the world's problems come from too many people and too much greed.

how does America become the great nation it once was, we sure can't do it with people like you all, who vote and hate along party lines, you all sound like a bunch of little kids, both political parties are corrupt and have stolen away what America once was, and it will never come back as long as we all think the other can do no right and I can do no wrong! we need to be Americans not Republicans and democrats! they only time we come together is when a lot of us are killed, the last time we were the America of great was on 9/11. no one cared what party you were in, or what color you were or what invisible god you prayed too, it was just people helping people. we all should really be ashamed of what we have become!!

That is why Lib's are pushing for this, they want to turn US into a country just like Hitler's was, and that is not far away, but it will never happen while Bush is in office, he will not let it happen. The time to be really afraid is in 09.

That's ridiculous. Bush is not like Hitler, (and this is coming from a liberal). Rather, the extreme right is like Hitler. And even Hitler didn't round up everyone.

Chris Rock was right. Forget gun control. Enforce bullet control instead- make bullets cost 1 million dollars apeice. If you haven't seen that, you ought to, it's hilarious.

The "Bush = Hitler" mantra is politics. It's a derogatory label with no factual basis whatsoever, derived from emotional wishes to draw as much support from the President as they can. I did not know that Hitler had actually banned firearms, but it makes sense: if you're maintaining control over a populace by force, you don't want them capable of an armed revolt, so you do the best you can to prevent it from happening.

Interesting.
