I can see that some people have shamelessly taken the opportunity of a tragedy to push their vile anti-2nd Amendment agenda

It's times like these I am thankful that we have the NRA and other worthy civil rights organizations to defend our rights.

I just sent the NRA a $100 check to help protect against the impending attacks on our liberty.

Gosh Anti, don't you know anything about the NRA? That groups name doesn't limit their membership to only people that have rifles! Good grief, catch up OK?

BTW, I am not a member, but I do support our right to own guns.

And for the guy who misquoted the 2nd amendment so that it appears to be "well regulated guns", that isn't what it says.

If you remember your elementary school grammer, "well regulated" refers to "MILITIA". It has nothing to do with the ADDITIONAL right of citizens to keep and bear arms.

Also, BTW, can anyone name a single country that is FREE today that didn't, at some point in their history have to win that freedom through the use of force (guns)?

In America we are unique in that it is the PEOPLE that have all the power and the federal government is there to SERVE the people, NOT TELL THEM WHAT THEY CAN AND CAN'T DO.

Any person that is truly free KNOWs that they can own a gun. Period.

Only those that have allowed their goverment to be all consuming, all knowing and all powerful find themselves unarmed and unable to defend the freedom and liberty they long for.

If they ever do win their freedom, it won't be because they politely ask the despots to please give them their freedoms back. It will happen with the people truly believe they are free, arm themselves and overthrow the government that is oppressing them.

i am not in the nra or anything but it is my right as an american to bare arms. where i live is near a high crime area so they are trying to make alot of guns illeagal and in some areas trying to ban guns all together. if you take away the right to have guns the only people that will have guns is the crimanals that buy them to commit crimes and the people that accually obey the law will be defenceless against the crimanals when they break in and rob them and rape their wives. its stupid to say that you can not legally own guns cause its not the legally registered ones they need to worry about. its the illegally obtained one that is in the hands of a 15 year old entering the bathroom of a school to shoot the kid that called him a pansy. or the one that was bbought for 35$ out of a trunk by a crack feind so he can rob some people and get a big rock this time. if the goverment ever does make guns illegal then i will revolt and keep my guns illegaly and they will have to pull them from my cold dead fingers before i render myself defencless. until then though i will proudly own my guns legally.

~So, have you ever even read the 2nd Amendment? It does not guarantee the right to bear arms. It guarantees that the right to bear arms will not be infringed IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN A WELL REGULATED MILITIA.

That being case, and the need for a militia being extinct, there is no constitution prohibition against keeping Uzis off the streets. Registration of handguns and security checks of prospective purchasers is somehow Orwellian? If you want to repel an attack on your liberty, forget about want to hunt rabbits with a fully automatic assault rifle and demand the repeal of the Patriot Act instead.

Me too.

People will start beating there drums saying if only we banned guns, things like this wouldn't happen. News flash they do. The people we should actually be blaming are the ones waging a hundred year long battle against private gun ownership. It is they who have tried desperately to remove every means in which a private citizen can protect himself from an aggressor saying that people do not need guns anymore, that the police will protect them. Even if our police weren't a bunch of power abusing pigs, it is impossible for them to be present at all times. At best, a cop is 10 minute phone call away and by that time the damage has already happened. Had a student in that campus been allowed to conceal and carry, this tragedy could have easily been averted. OMG, guns can be used for good things! Further removing the right of citizens to own guns will only cause things like this to happen more. Crime rates go up when private citizen gun ownership is revoked, look at all the examples.... Britain, Australia.

They refuse to see the other side of the argument. What if everyone was required to have a gun? Things like this would be in the past. What if the teacher was allowed to have a gun? What if one student in the classroom was able to carry a gun on campus? This would have been taken care of easily. When you remove everyone's means of protecting themselves, things like this will continue to happen. The true people that should be ashamed are the anti-gun liberals. Put the blame where it is due. On the person that committed the crime. People kill people, guns are tools. Take guns away and people still kill people.

To respond to some people above.
The NRA supports assualt rifles as means of protection. The last time I remember a dog killing 33 people was... wait. The last time I checked, assualt rifles are a pretty good means of protecting oneself. No one makes the argument that they need AK 47 to hunt, why do people say things like that. People need assualt weapons because the people that are trying to hurt them, criminals, have them.

Absolutely. If they had allowed legally registered guns on campus at Virgina Tech, the toll probably would have been lower. How does a resident alien get to legally purchase two hand guns in the past month and a half? He would have got them one way or another.

Yes.

But I can also see that some people have shamelessly taken the opportunity of a tragedy to push their pro-2nd amendment agenda.

No.

In the U.S. owning a gun is a right and access to medical care is a privilege. How's that for "vile"?

Your question, and the values that support it, are a perversion.
